Raspberry Delights

Reviewed: May 4, 2012
These were amazing. I made them just as the recipe said. I thought there wouldn't be enough jam to topping but it all worked out.

Bake Sale Lemon Bars

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2009
I also used GourmetMommy's review after I found it on page 28. I found her cook time way off (took mine 40 min to cook) the edges burnt but everything else was great. They were not looking amazing but then I sprinkled the sugar on and tried them and they were amazing. I entered them in my company bake off and won 3rd place!!! Awesome recipe will do again this week.

Zucchini Pasta Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2009
I liked this very much and so did my son. My partner hated it and my daughter doesn't like anything haha so she doesn't count. I added cheddar cheese to give it extra umph and I found it lovely.

Best Ever Popcorn Balls

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2008
I made these for my daughter's Brownie troop with the vanilla added and they LOVED them. I am making them right now for my son's class and made some for my partner's work. I was careful to catch the mix at the softball stage and just used shortening and my hands...at first a tad warm but fine after a bit. Thanks!

Barbecue Chicken Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2008
We collectively marked this 4. My partner said it was a 4, his daughter thought it was a 4.5 and I thought it was a 3.5 but I didn't cook the celery enough so I think next time I'll make sure it is REALLY tender. I did all the fixes in the reviews and apparently it was a huge hit. A must make again. Thanks for the recipe.

Pork Chops Deluxe

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2008
My boyfriend and I really liked this dish. My kids are poor eaters so I don't go by what they say. It was very good with corn and spinach on the side. I used Corona to deglaze and added worcestershire, salt and pepper. Pretty good dish.

Maple Pancakes

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2007
I needed a recipe with only one egg as I failed to shop sigh. I would give this 3.5 stars. The base recipe is definitely lacking. I added 1/2 cup sugar, a capful of vanilla and a bit more milk and they were fine. My mom's recipe still wins out but the kids ate them so no complaints here.

Brownie Biscotti

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2006
These were extremely good. They weren't the hardness of biscotti .. kind of a hard brownie but they were yummy. My son (4) keeps walking past them and each time its..mmmm yummmmmmmy mummmy. I added almond extract to the yolk water mixture for that almond flavour as I left nuts out. I cooked for 20 min at 375 but reduced the 2nd cook temp to 300 and did 10 min per side. Very yummy.

Lamb Chops with Balsamic Reduction

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2006
This was fabulous. I had never really cooked lamb before and this was easy but looked to be a complex dish when served. My boyfriend loved it and we have had it a few times since...tonight again. Thanks for the recipe.

Breaded Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2006
I did a no no and misread the recipe missing the number 1. haha and the rest of the recipe made sense still as there were 2 loins in the pkg so...I kept them whole did everything as recipe called for and baked em...they were fabulous lol so unsliced whole and breaded works too! Everyone loved this.

Four Cheese Macaroni Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2006
I made this and with a few changes it was awesome. I omitted tomatoes and added 1 tin of tomato paste. I just used basil, salt, pepper and nutmeg for seasonings. I added 1.5 cups mozerella 1.5 of cheddar and 1/2 of parmesian. Kids gobbled it up. Thanks

Chicago Deep Dish Pizza

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2006
We found the crust very very wet so had to add a bunch more flour. It was very difficult to handle. Finally got that in and changed the inside completely to pizza sauce, feta, mozzerella, mushrooms, pineapple and pepperoni topped with parmesian cheese and it was awesome. So I guess I am just rating the crust here...and I would rate it a three only cause it did taste nice with the addition of salt but way fussy.

Marinated Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2006
This was awesome. I did cook it at 350 in the oven and used a meat thermometer to tell me when it was done. I boiled up the remainder of the marinade and basted with that and then served it as a topping sauce. YUMMER. I used real garlic (4 cloves) and 1/2 a red onion. Very juicy and yummy!

Tomato-Cream Sauce for Pasta

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2006
Any recipe that my kids will eat gets 5 *...I changed it up and used 3 med fresh tomatoes, chopped fine from the garden, a tablespoon of soya sauce, 1/4 cup wine, 3/4 half and half cream and fresh basil from the garden...the rest was the same...oh and a sprinkling of nutmeg and instead of olive oil I used olive oil I have garlic and rosemary sitting in and omitted the onion and garlic other than that and put garlic powder (as my kids won't eat a cooked onion). They devoured it over gnocci! Thanks a ton for a great base.

Spinach Bars

I really liked this recipe. Kids would not touch it as it still looked like spinach ... was hoping for them to look more ... bar like. A tad more salt though. I will make this again. Thanks so much.

Cowboy Cookies III

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2006
PHENOMINAL!! To ensure perfect cookies with correct plumpness use 1/2 butter 1/2 shortening also ensure the butter is room temp soft. I also doubled the vanilla and used 1.5 times the chocolate chips. Also used quick oats they were just as good as rolled. Reduced the sugar to 3/4 cup for each sugar amount. Baked for 10 min exactly these were perfect soft ratio. BF said these were the best oatmeal chip cookies and he is a critic! Thanks for a superb recipe I will always use this one.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2006
These were amazing but admittedly me and my better half changed the topping huge. The buns themselves are to die for no doubt. For the topping we used 1/2 cup cream 1/3 cup butter melted 1/3 cup brown sugar and filled it with icing sugar for the correct consistency then poured it over the hot buns. AWESOME. Thanks for this recipe a keeper for sure.

Savory Bubble Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2006
These were sinfully amazing. I changed it up a bit. After I pulled the dough from the pan I kneeded flour into it as it was too sticky. Then I preped 1/4 cup butter melted, 6 cloves minced garlic, fresh diced rosemary and about 1 heaping tsp of thyme in a bowl. I dipped the bread pieces in there and put them in a 9x13 pan. After I basted on the remainder of the mixture adding 1 leaf of rosemary to the top of each. Then I grated parmesian and cheddar and sprinkled it ontop prior to baking. My fiance ADORED THEM. They were awesome! Thanks for the recipe.

Kahala's Shrimp and Broccoli Toss

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2006
As is I would rate it bland an okay I wouldn't make it again but I added parmesian, tons of garlic, tomato paste, wine, and basil and the kids gobbled it up haha. Guess it is a different recipe now but the kids liked it much better and so did I.
