Outrageous Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2006
SOOOOOO good!!! I made no changes to recipe and they are outstanding!!! Thanks for a great treat! I doubled the recipe for bigger cookies. One note- they are fragile when they come out of the oven- let them sit before moving to the cooling rack.

Outstanding Chicken Dinner

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2006
The subtitle to this recipe should be "Chicken Alfredo" because that's really all it is. It was good, but nothing outstanding. The only addition I made was some minced garlic. I followed other reviews and didn't cook the chicken twice- I just made the sauce and dumped it over the chicken and baked for 45 minutes. I served over fettucine.

Almond Chicken Casserole II

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2006
We enjoyed this very much! Although, I took the advice of some others and made some changes. I used cream of mushroom soup w/roasted garlic and french onions instead of corn flakes. I made it the night before and put it in the fridge. then added the onions before cooking. The ONLY complaint I have was that I used all of the same amounts of ingredients this recipe called for and I only had enough for an 8x8 pan. ?? Maybe my chicken breasts were smaller..? I will make this again.

Husband's Delight

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2006
Not impressed. The only changes were those made by other reviewers... (add small can of tom juice, add italian seas., mix pasta in with cheese mixture). I thought it was boring and lacked flavor. It was also very heavy. Husband said it was just okay. Thanks anyway.

Mississippi Six

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2006
I grew up calling this "Shepard's Bread"... this was wonderful! It was the hit of the New Year's Eve party!! The only change I made was I put all of the pieces of bread on a pan and toasted them before serving. It made them easier to dip with. I also microwaved the cheese mixture for 3 minutes (stirring after each minute) to speed up the melting. Otherwise- no changes to the ingredients... make it as-is. Thanks!

Hot Jezebel

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2006
I was very skeptical about this recipe and while I didn't care for it very much, it was the HIT of the New Year's Eve party!! I kept hearing people say things like "Oh, WHO made this!?! Its excellent!!". they would also try an guess qhat was in it and most of them were suprised to hear the ingredients! Thank you so much!! (I would recommend you make it far enough in advance to chill the sauce fro at least 2 hours before serving.)

Mikael's Wassal

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2005
I just made this for Christmas and it was wonderful! It makes an absolute ton, but I am going to freeze the rest for a future cold, winter day. I brought everything to a boil in a pot and then transferred it to a crock-pot on low for the rest of the day. Everyone served themselves all day long.

Cheese Ball I

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2005
This was my first cheese ball and I looked like a pro! I listened to other reviews and added minced garlic, parsley and some worchester. A few recommendations... it mixes best if you use your hands! Don't be afraid to get messy- it washes off! Also, if you plan to serve it with crackers, take it out of the fridge AT LEAST 2-3 hours before serving to soften.

Calico Squash Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2005
This was pretty good. I made it for our holiday church potluck. I made it a few hours before, chilled it and then cooked it for 40 minutes. I didn't make any changes to the recipe itself. It got average reviews.

Honey Glazed Ham With Dried Cranberry Relish

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2005
I didn't use the glaze in this recipe, but I did use the relish- I wanted something different from the normal cranberry sauce out of a can. I made it today for our Christmas dinner and everyone LOVED it!! I made it one day before and chilled it overnight. It has a beautiful presentation and the taste was wonderful.

Busy Night Turkey Taco Soup with Avocado Cream

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2005
This was excellent and SO easy!! I used black beans and "lime & cilantro" flavored salsa. I cut corn tortillas into strip and lighly toasted them. We topped our soup with the tortilla strips and cheese! GREAT way to use leftover holiday turkey!

Beef and Biscuit

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2005
I added a can each of corn and kidney beans. I substituted the green chiles for a can of rotel (including the juice). I used crescents instead of biscuits. We just didn't care for it. It was dry and kind of bland. Husband said he prefers some of the other things I have made better. Thanks anyway.

Pumpkin Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2005
I was THE talk of a holiday potluck!! I served this in a hollowed out pie pumpkin (I lined it with saran wrap). I served it with sliced apples and ginger snaps. I would ask people what they preferred and the apples won! Everyone wanted the recipe- one guy even called his voice mail and had me recite the recipe! Definitely the hit of the night. If you want to stand out- this is the winner!

Luscious Spinach Artichoke Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2005
This was a hit! Here are my changes... I kept the same amount of spinach and artichokes, but doubled everything else. It made a lot more dip and was creamy like we like it. I think next time I will back down on the mayo as that was one of the main things I tasted during my first bite. Otherwise- it was GREAT!! (Even better the next day.)

Grilled Venison Backstrap

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2005
Excellent! Excellent! This was the first time I had ever cooked venison and this recipe made me look like an old pro! I would make NO changes except I used toothpicks that were all different colors... (the blue ones left blue holes in the meat- beware!) The flavor was wonderful!! Thanks!

Broccoli, Corn, and Green Bean Saute

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2005
There was a divided decision on this... my husband LOVED this and I just thought it was okay. I thought the feta taste was really too strong. I will probably make again (my husband wants me too) but I will scale back on the feta. Thanks!

I used this recipe with just zucchini and yellow squash and it was SO good. My husband had several servings and as a newlywed- that is a big compliment!! VERY easy too!!!

Paul's Pumpkin Bars

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2005
This was a HUGE hit at a family dinner last night. The only changes I made was 2 tsp of pumkin pie spice instead of the cinnamin, a little more sugar to the frosting because it wasn't thick enough for me and I used a 9x13 pan. If you have time after you frost it, place the cake in the fridge for a couple of hours. That sets the frosting beautifully and makes the cake yummy and cool! I have renamed this Pumpkin Spice Cake since it really isn't a "bar" recipe. Thanks!!

Skillet Chicken Cordon Bleu

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2005
Overall this was good. I changed it a little bit because I had 4 chicken breasts that were already cooked- so I skipped the first chicken step. I made the sauce as shown, adding a tad of butter and 1 tsp. of minced garlic (we love garlic). Then I added the chicken shredded and simmered for about 10 minutes. Served over egg noodles... the husband loved it!
