Chex® Muddy Buddies® -- Gluten Free!

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2011
I just felt this recipe was OK. Extremely easy, but I just feel if I'm going to consume the extra calories I want it to be worth it, ya know? This I can see just sitting in the pantry until it's finally tossed. Sorry but I wont be making again.

Italian Sausage, Peppers, and Onions

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2010
I followed it exactly as written and found it to be an OK recipe. Nothing that had me saying, "wow!", but not bad either. In the future I'd like to increase the quantity of wine and try switching the white wine for red, and also the addition of crushed tomatoes. I feel those changes will make this recipe out of this world!

Ham and Potatoes Au Gratin

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2010
Simple and very good. I did not have any trouble with the cooking time, so I'm not sure why so many others did. I cubed mine somewhat small because of the other reviews...that may be why. I also tripled the potatoes and ham and doubled the cheese sauce. Came out thick and delicious; not soupy at all like others experienced. Although I reduced the amount of cheese sauce, I followed ingredients exactly (oh, I add one glove of garlic finely chopped)...next time I'd like to add some herbs and I think that will make this recipe over the top! You wont got wrong - try it!

Chicken Scampi II

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2009
This was the best chicken scampi I've ever made! I love chicken scampi but have not found a recipe yet that compares to a restaurant; this is it! I followed the recipe but wanted to use a little white wine and forgot to pick it up. Although I thought it was FAB like this, a little white wine would definitely be the finishing touch.

Sweet and Sour Sauce II

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2009
If it were not for the tomato paste in this I think it would have been great. The tomato paste, however, completely ruined it for me. Guess I should have listened to my gut about the tomato paste before I made it. Thanks, anyway though.

Cajun Style Burgers

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2008
I thought these burgers were FABULOUS! Really, really loved them! Only change was I used ground turkey. I did not like the BBQ sauce with the cajun seasoning though. I only had hickory BBQ so that may have been why. I will try once more with another BBQ sauce, but did not even use the BBQ sauce on the burger. Tasted after it was made and wanted to spit it out. :) Thanks so much for sharing - will use this burger recipe again and again.

Split Pea Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2008
Very good - not quite 5 stars - but very good. I've not had pea soup with the addition of other vegetables before. Was not sure if I'd like that, but tried it, and really enjoyed the potatoes and carrots. Will continue to use them. Thanks for sharing!

Garlic Chicken Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2008
I was not impressed here at all. This was BLAND. I did also see the note from the submitter of this recipe that the garlic pwd should be TBSP, not tsp and did use TBSP's. Still, VERY bland. I tasted none of the seasonings, besides the flour and breading, not really even much garlic flavor. The problem is the flour and bread crumbs are way out of proportion for the amount of seasoning listed. The seasonings just get lost in the dish. I think by cutting some of the flour/breading and increasing the seasonings a great deal, this will be great! Sorry I can't give a better review, but I do thank you for sharing! :)

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2008
This recipe, as written, I imagine would be a 2-3 star recipe. I followed others recommendations and doubled sauce, added half onion soup packet, fresh mushrooms in last 30 minutes, s&p, garlic, and 2 dallops of sour cream. Honestly, I still didn't think it was worthy of 5 stars, but 4. Next time I will add the entire onion soup packet...I think that will help.

Curried Quinoa Salad with Mango

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2008
This was a very good recipe, although I did not use the mango and green onion. My youngest who is very picky will never eat quinoa, and did made this way. I served curried honey mustard chicken (from this site) over top (instead of adding the mango and green onion) and it was great!

Grilled Venison Backstrap

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2008
Excellent recipe! The only thing different was I marinated in the cider 24 hours (wasn't able to coke it when planned) and it came out beautifully! My husband did however have a heck of a time with the bacon on the grill! Other then that, supurb!

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: May 13, 2008
I give this 4 stars, because at first, it was REALLY good....but it's one of those things where about half way through, it's starts to not taste good. I couldn't really peg what it was, but my family completely agreed. Only change was that I used less sugar. The amount the recipe called for is way too much.
