Raisin Buttermilk Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2007
So good!!! I usually dont want to try any recipes which have less than 10 reviews - but i thought - oh well - this looks like the easiest, and i have all the ingredients at hand... and my buttermilk is going to rot if I leave it one more day! And I didnt regret it, it's so moist, rich, soft! I couldnt spread the dough into 2 different layers (too thin for me) - so I just pour the whole thing in the 9x13 pan, and laid the whole brownsugar mix on top of it - creating a really nice streussel look! Anyway, I loved it - had 3 big pieces already.

A to Z Everything-but-the-Kitchen-Sink Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2006
I remembered cooking a big batch of these - using this basic recipe, with some addition of pecans, walnuts, raisins and flax seeds (all I can find in my kitchen cupboards) - and it was great - and it's all gone when i brought it to the office! Just made it again today, but now I think it's a bit too salty! So, not sure what was different from last time. But I still like it a lot!

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2012
Good stuff! I only had 1 cup of sour cream (instead of 2) - so I added yoghurt (actually... Yop!) and it still came out nice and moist. I decreased the amount of sugar to 2 1/4 cup - and it's sweet enough for me - just make sure your bananas are really ripe. One review said that she/he had trouble with baking at 300 degrees for 1 hour. Yes, I had the same experience.... at one hour it's still raw in the middle... however, just leave it longer in the oven until the toothpick comes out clear. Mine were done in 1.5 hr.

Juicy Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2013
I can't get enough of these chickens. I tried roasting chicken before and it was always dry in the breast - but not this recipe. I think the key was in the amount of butter or margarine in the cavity and having celeries instead of other kind of veggies/stuffing. Had anyone tried with different stuffing? I tried both butter and margarine and it seemed to give consistent results. I did try to cook the original recipe, and there were times I improvised with other seasoning - and both works wonderfully as long I didn't change what goes on inside the cavity. Does anyone have any experience using this method with turkey?

Strawberry Angel Food Dessert

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2007
Made it twice now! Once with my own glaze (got it from one of the reviews) - and once with store-bought glaze. They're both great - and if you dont have time, just buy the store bought glaze and you'll be alright!

Barbecue Ribs

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2007
Killer ribs! Great! Easy! (well, i asked my husband to make the sauce) - and he did it very well! The last time I made them, we were running out of chili sauce, so we substituted it with jarred spicy pasta sauce - and it worked really great too!

Absolute Mexican Cornbread

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2006
A friend of mine at work brought this to office potluck event. It was cold, but I loved it. I tried the recipe the week after, and wasn't very good because I did not use cream corn (used regular corn and mix them in blender) - it's not the same! So I tried it again with cream corn, and it was unbelievable! I couldnt find canned green pepper, and I used half a cup of dried jalapeno pepper instead and a little of other herbs - but it was really good with it too! Good job!

Easy Dump Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2007
This was a surprise. I had a craving for a cake after work last night - but I only have 1.5 hrs to spend. So I browsed allrecipes quickly to find easy cake to make - and found this! I only had half of the sour cream tub, so I used vanilla yoghurt for the other half. I dumped everything in the same mixer, and mixed them all together - that easy. I also put peanut butter chips and almond slivers in them. My friend said this is the best cake she's ever eaten! So moist, delicious, and the easiest of all.

Feta Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2006
Hmm.... not my thing... and 75% of my guests somehow did not want to eat it too after I told them it's a feta cheese ball... something about feta that turns people off? I tried it, it tasted okay - but I'm not crazy about it..

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2008
Awesome recipe! My husband approves! ;-) Though I found that I had to add a bit more milk - the batter rose quickly - it thickened fast - so adding more milk will give you more time before you have to put it on the griddle.

Chocolate Frosting I

Great one!! Easy to make and cheap (used margarine instead of butter). I loved deep chocolate taste, so I reduced the sugar a bit, and upped the cocoa powder. I paired them with One Bowl Chocolate cake III - oh yummy!

Aunt Millie's Broccoli Casserole

Definitely a keeper. I do it with only brocolli, and sometimes I would throw in ham, or even to be more filling, I threw some cooked tortellini :-). Yummy!
