About this Cook
I've been cooking as long as I can remember. As a young girl my mom and I had a deal - If I cooked dinner, she did the dishes. Great incentive to learn to cook!
My favorite things to cook
I love to try anything once. Homemade pizzas are my creative outlet and I'm slowly learning to enjoy baking.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I used to love spending the day in my grandma's kitchen helping her make bread.
My cooking triumphs
Any time my hard-to-please husband tells me he likes something is a triumph.
My cooking tragedies
When I was 8 and made muffins that tasted like playdough. I think I mistakenly used salt instead of sugar. Even the ducks at the park wouldn't touch them. Oh, and Thanksgiving 2005. Undercooked turkey, overcooked or cold side dishes and not enough mashed potatoes.

Lime Chicken Soft Tacos
This was great especially since you could actually taste the marinade on the chicken. So often you spend time marinating and flavoring meat, only to be disappointed with the results. Like other reviewers, I substituted fresh cilantro for the oregano.

Black Bean and Salsa Soup
Delicious and so simple! Added some cilantro to the garnish and used beef broth instead of vegetable.

Breakfast Pizza I
This was very good. I couldn't find frozen hashbrowns so I just omitted them from the recipe. It didn't seem to hurt it any. My husband even said it was good and to get a compliment on anything from him means a lot!
