Cowboy Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2009
So far the best oatmeal cookies, but they didn't have alot of oatmeal in them. I used raisins instead of chips, everything else was as is.

Zesty Chicken and Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2009
I didn't find this especially great. Kinda plain. I even used zesty italian dressing because that's what I have... and I marinated the chicken but still only ok. Potatoes were good though.

Insane Oven Beef Ribs

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2009
This was a good recipe but nothing really fabulous. I won't bother making again. They were just too basic.

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: May 19, 2008
This was an ok dough... not great but not bad. It was too much dough and I thought I made a mistake and this recipe was supposed to make two. But when I checked the recipe only indicated one pizza. I made a 16 inch... maybe it's for a two-footer? Also it didn't have a lot of flavour

Angie's Dad's Best Cabbage Coleslaw

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2008
This was a good recipe for coleslaw. Nice and tangy. I only used half a cabbage because I'm the only one to eat leftovers and thats alot of cabbage for one woman. I also used a regular onion because that's all I had. I think it made the onion flavour a little stronger but we liked that. I've never put onion in my coleslaw before but I probably will from now on. I'll might make again when I want something I know is good. Other wise, I'll just keep trying new ones to find one better than my own but with less fat and/or sugar

Simple But Awesome Lemon Pepper Pork Chops

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2008
This made the house smell wonderful when it was cooking and we all couldn't wait for them to be done. But the end result was very plain. We were very disappointed. They were just boring

Venison Kabobs with Sweet and Smoky Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2008
I only had 1 tbsp of liguid smoke left in my bottle but it still turned out good. Next time, I'll use the full two tbsp. I also had no tomato puree or sauce but I found a can of tomato juice, so I use that. Also used cider vinegar on account I had no rice vinegar. I'll definately make it again. It was very good with the changes and depending on what is in the cupboards, I'll probably follow the recipe more.

Marinated Venison Steaks

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2008
This was pretty good but I've had better. It was very tender, could be cut with a fork. I might make it again because it used things in my already in my kitchen. I simmered the meat in the sauce in the oven. I'm not sure what the oil did but if you plan on serving the sauce over mashed potatoes like some other suggestions, I would leave it out. Otherwise the oil kind of sits on top and just looks gross. Venison is lean enough not to make its own fat but because I simmered the meat in the sauce it still turned out good. If I make it again, it will be broiled like suggested or I will leave out the oil

Golden Carrot Buns

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2008
These were very good. A little sweeter than regular buns but still good. I made them into a loaf a bread, pan rolls and in muffin tins. The buns in the muffin tin did not turn out as well, they were too crusty, for my taste. Maybe I should have taken them out earlier. The pan rolls were the best and the loaf was pretty good too. Beatiful pale yellow colour with flecks of ornage.

Peanut Butter Shortbread Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2007
The name of this cookie is misleading. It's a PB cookie, not a shortbread... And as PB cookies go, I have never had a better one. I had been looking for a good recipe for a few years but every one I made didn't have enough peanut butter flavor. I figured this was a good one because it had no flour to dull the taste. Found it a little sweet so I halved the sugar the second time around. After my husband (the PB cookie monster) tried this one, he said I'm not to look any more. This is it!!!! The batch only lasts a few days (if that) but that could be because my teen and my hubby eats 3-5 at a time

Broccoli Squares

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2007
I had this before and it got rave reviews. However, I didn't have most of the ingredients on hand. I used mushrooms and green onions and added regular ranch dressing to the cream cheese instead of the powder. Still, it was loved by every person who tried it. I'll definatly make it again and experiment with it. Maybe, I'll try it with bacon for a BLT effect like another person suggested or Ceaser dressing with parmasan. OHHHH, the possibilities.

Crunchy Cheese Crisps

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2007
Thees were edible. that's all. Not much flavor and I used old chedder. Maybe with a different kind of cheese or maybe different kind of chips, they might be better. I won't try again.

Dad's Pan-Fried Green Beans

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2007
I used frozen green and yellow beans with carrots. Stirfried them with the garlic and the sesame oil, then added the soy sauce mixture. I halved the recipe because it was only my husband and myself. My husband asked for more (and he doesn't eat green bean usually) but there were no more left. Guess next time, I'll make the full recipe

Peanut Butter Ice Cream

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2006
We loved this recipe. My husband said it tasted like the inside of peanut butter cups. Next time I make it it, I 'm going to add chocolate chunks.
