I work as a live-out nanny in Charleston, WV and absolutely love cooking. I was horrible at first but with a lot of practice I've greatly improved. The only unfortunate part is that I'm always the one pegged to cook for get-togethers with the friends!!
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy cooking pastas, soups, pasta salads and at times, baking. I'm told I make the best desserts ever. In fact, that is one of the few things I've been good at from the start. And my husband and old college roommate swear I make the best sandwiches but I'm not quite sure how this is possible.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making homemade ravioli for Christmas.
My cooking triumphs
I make an awesome scampi that my husband and friends can't stop eating!! My pasta sauces and meatballs also turn out pretty good. I guess I have to attribute that to my Italian heritage!!
My cooking tragedies
I set the oven on fire this past January when I attempted to toast coconut under the broiler. I left it in too long, obviously. We had to use the fire extinguisher to put it out. I think my grandma was extra-appreciative of her homemade coconut cream birthday pie!!
