Orange Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2001
These cookies are great -- not too sweet, and they taste fresh with the hint of orange. My batch made OVER 6 DOZEN 2-inch cookies. I actually chilled my dough for about a week, because I got sidetracked, but it was still easy to work with. You can put the cookies right next to each other on the baking sheets -- they puff but don't spread.

Lasagne Verdi al Forno

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2001
This lasagne is divine. It's beautiful to look at, the fresh pasta melts in your mouth, the ragu is substantial without being overpowering, and did I mention the bechamel? The overall effect is sophisticated, yet comforting. Rolling out the pasta is the most labor intensive part, but after the first try it will be very simple to do the next time. MAKE THIS LASAGNE.

Cheddar Cheese Straws

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2000
I found these easiest to roll out on an unfloured surface. Mine puffed up a lot, so I rolled them very thinly to make them more like straws than, say, strips. My party guests gobbled them up.

Spinach and Mushroom Pinwheels

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2000
I used fresh spinach and found the taste very pleasant, not too bland at all. I didn't chill my dough long enough though, and it split when I rolled it. I also recommend slicing with a serrated knife. But they turned out fairly pretty despite the mishaps, and were all eaten hastily at my party.

Chocolate Orange Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2000
I made these for a party and they were pretty, easy, light and delicious. Orange and chocolate is a great combination and they took very little time to prepare. Great recipe!
