Mama's Asian Chicken and Rice

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2012
Yum! great combo of sweet and spicy. Husband and EXTREMELY finicky daughter loved it. I left out the cornstarch step and didn't have 5 spice so subbed with xtra red pepper and a tiny bit of cinnamon, cloves and white pepper.

Christmas Stars

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2006
These are so yummy the next day. they soften up and are not that hard to make if you keep the dough hard enough (keep in freezer while working with small chunks) and roll small chunks onto parchment paper, cut dough and then just bake on the parchment paper. This keeps the stars in perfect shape!

Soft Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2006
These are awesome with crumbled up Andes mints added in the mix. After mixing the batter I split it in half; one half as the recipe directed (without Andes)and the other half with. the half with the mint really blew everyones socks off whereas the plain were pretty good, but not as outstanding. Thanks for this recipe, it's a keeper!

Cioppino

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2006
After my husband and I got back from San Fran we had been craving the cioppino from the famous Tadich Grill (longest running restaurant, claims to have invented or perfected the dish) Nothing can compare to the Tadich but this was a good substitution.

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2006
It was really good and super easy. My husband thought it lacked a certain depth, but I am giving it 5 stars anyways because it was just so easy! used frozen chicken, substituted chicken broth for water. will make again!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2006
This was delicious and sooooo easy! Will use more broth next time. The left overs were all dough! Still yummy, will make again. Also, I added Siracha (an asian tabasco) to my bowl for spice. Not for everyone but if you have the sniffles, it will knock em right out of you and it ads one heck of a punch!

Fresh Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2006
This totally satisfied my craving for peach cobbler. Had to use canned peaches since it was fall, but I am looking forward to making it again when peaches are in season. For an extra zing I added crushed gingersnaps right before taking it out of the oven! Yum! Yum! Thanks for this recipe!

Streusel Apple Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2005
This was my first attempt at apple pie.It was easy and recieved many compliments at Thanksgiving dinner, but I thought it could have used "something" caramel would have been a nice addition maybe? My husband and I agreed it was actually better..quite amazing as leftovers!Maybe we ate too much at Thanksgiving to truly enjoy it. I will probably try again with some sort of caramel sauce.

Grandma Minnie's Old Fashioned Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2005
Wow! I finally found my sugar cookies!! These are great for cut-outs, really hold their shape perfectly, even for intricate detailed cutters. So soft and chewy just how I like them. Had to double+ the cream. Not very sweet, so may add nutmeg or cinnamon next time. Great to compliment your favorite frosting!! A KEEPER!!! Thanks Jessica
