Quinoa and Black Beans

So yummy! you must rinse the quinoa very well otherwise it tastes bitter. I used the leftovers in a vegetarian bean chili a few days later.

Roasted Chickpeas

The chickpeas took forever to roast. Much longer than indicated on the recipe. The taste is good though.

Artichoke & Spinach Dip Restaurant Style

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2010
I increased the garlic, decreased the Alfredo sauce since I don't like it as much. Nevertheless, the ingredients in this recipe go very well together.

Refried Beans Without the Refry

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2010
Pretty good beans recipe. I added a ton of cumin and lessened the amount of salt. I cooked the beans for about 5 hours on High setting.

Middle Eastern Rice with Black Beans and Chickpeas

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
Very aromatic, yummy tasting and easy to make. You can even make adjustments if you don't have all the ingredients on hand. The amount of stock is a bit much. I used 1/2 c rice and 2 c stock... even that was too much. However, I let it cook on low for an additional 5 minutes and most of the liquid was absorbed. I also only used 1 can of black beans since I didn't have chick peas. Thanks for sharing the recipe.

Very Easy Mushroom Barley Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2008
I think the recipe had potential. I made it as instructed. Some flavors in the soup clashed. Definitely did not like the carrots. Will have to make some adjustments.

This side dish was just OK. I took the other reviewers' advice and served it the next day. It looked very pretty, but the taste was bland.

Molten Chocolate Cakes

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2008
This is excellent and somewhat easy. I melted the chocolate squares on the stovetop. Silly me! I also made them in smaller custard cups than recommended. I will make it again and again and again.

Kraft Red Velvet Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2008
This cake was fairly easy to make. Frosting the cake was not easy for me; perhaps my frosting wasn't as spreadable as it should be. I also didn't have 1 Tbsp of red food coloring. I only had .25 oz; it worked out just fine though. I would make this again if someone requests it.

My aunt gave me this very same recipe. The first time I burned them! I followed the other members' advice, I baked it at 250 for 30 mins. Turned out excellent!

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2008
Wish I can give this recipe 10 stars; it's that good! For the most part, I followed the recipe exactly. However, I folded in a 1/4 c of chopped pecans at the end. The crumb topping made it lovely. The end product was yummy and moist. Will definitely make it again.

Blueberry Nut Oat Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2008
This recipes is ok. I followed it exactly and I think it turned out as it was supposed to. The end product tasted dry and bland. There was no sweetness to it at all. It was definitely healthy. I might try reducing the bran and mixing in bananas.

Pecan Pie V

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2007
Excellent recipe! I made mini pies using a ready-made crust. Used a 3" cookie cutter and placed the mini pie crusts into the mini muffin tin. With 3, 9" ready-made pice crusts, this recipe makes about 37 mini pies. They were devoured within minutes.
