Cheesy Potato and Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2005
Great recipie! Has a Santa Fe kind of flavor. You can really taste the green chilies. It was so easy to make, and it made a ton. I am freezing some for later. It would be delicious in a bread bowl. We served with tortilla chips and it was great. Even my husband enjoyed it. My 13 month old wasn't a big fan, but, I think that is because of the chilies. It is a little spicy, but, not hot. Will definately make this again.

My Chili

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2005
This is a great basic chili recipie, if you change it a little. I used 1 lb. ground beef, only 2 cans of petite diced tomatoes, and added celery and green pepper. It's the best basic recipie i've used yet. I like that it's not very spicy. This makes a lot of chili. Still looking for the "perfect chili" recipie.

Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2005
Perfect broccoli cheese soup. I have been looking for a good recipie forever, so, my search is finally over. This is so simple, and tastes great! My husband is allergic to broccoli, so, I used carrots, celery, and potatoes. He gave it 4 stars and said it was good for an occasional soup. So, we both liked it.

Charline's Sweet Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2005
Too sweet, too rich, too many nuts and crunchy things. I cut the recipie down to 1/4, just in case this wasn't very good. I'm glad I did! We both ended up picking at it, and the rest went in the garbage. What a waste of sweet potatoes! I love sweet potatoes, but, this is just too much! If you like classic Thanksgiving candied yams, and mashed brown sugar sweet potatoes, you will not like this! It is far from traditional, and it makes a lot, even if you customize it to 6 servings. We will not be using this again. It's also an incredible waste of time. I now have a whole box of corn flakes that will not be eaten.

Cola Pork Chops

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2005
I used half ketchup & half bbq sauce as suggested by other reveiwers. They were no more tender than usual. I will stick to using all bbq sauce. This recipie was not bad, but, rather bland, and the sauce was not sauce, it was watery liquid. Will not be using this again.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2005
Delicious! I have made pot roast before, and it never fell apart. I fell asleep and by the time I served this it had been 11 hours in the crock pot. MMMMMMMMM.... My husband even loved it. I did change it a little. I used 1 can cream of celery & 1 can cream of chicken & 1 packet of dry onion soup mix with the water. My roast was 3 lbs, and I ended up having to thicken the "gravy" with flour and water. It was soooo good. This one is a keeper, and it makes very good open faced roast beef sandwiches as leftovers. Thanks for the recipie. The best one i've tried yet.

Peach Cream Pie I

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2005
This pie is simple and delicious. I didn't change anything. A lot of people said they added cinnimon, but, even alone, the peaches make the pie very good. The only thing bad about this is it will not stay in pie form when it's warm. It spills out everywhere. I'm still looking for a regular peach pie recipie. This one is great, and very easy.

Pumpkin Apple Streusel Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2005
Very dense muffins. It tasted o.k. Nothing magical. The streusel topping was the best part. If you're looking for something to use that can of pumpin on, I would suggest pumpkin chocolate chip muffins. This is too time consuming and messy to make. The family liked them, but, I (who love pumpkin) was not that impressed. Good recipie if you're not looking for the "perfect fall recipie".

Chicken Supreme III

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2005
They should change the name of this to Chicken Slop. I only used 1/2 cup of butter, but, wow. It was NOT a casserole. I had to tell my husband it was chicken and stuffing chowder! Would NEVER serve to guests. The texture is strange, but, it tastes good. There is way too much liquid in this. I will never make this again. Stick with chicken and stove top.

A-Plus Hot Chocolate

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2006
I would give this 100 stars if I could! I was looking for something quick and easy and this is amazing. My favorite hot chocolate in the universe! So rich, it is actually creamy... MMMMM.... I first made it with sweetened condensed milk, then, ran out, so I just used 2 tablespoons of sugar instead. Tastes exactly the same. No need for whipped cream or marshmallows. Made some & took it to my husband at work. He said it was too rich! No way! It is magical. I usually only like to try recipies with lots of ratings, but, this is a keeper. I keep going to the store for evaporated milk!

Cinnamon Rolls III

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2006
Best cinnamon rolls ever! I used 1 whole package of pudding and the dough is perfect. I also used the icing recipie from "Cinnimon rolls 2" (roman numeral 2) These never last more than a day. My neighbor came over and ate 3! People have actually harrassed me for this recipie. This is perfection people!

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2006
great easy recipie. Tastes like biscuits. Very good with honey butter. I must not have cut mine thick enough because they didn't puff up more than regular biscuits. Still, they had perfect texture and are well worth making.

Apple Crisp III

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2006
Easy and delicious. I didn't use the water, but, I wish I would have.It wasn't as moist as I had hoped. I also used half white sugar and half brown. Great with cool whip. So quick to make. It has apple pie taste, without the apple pie work.

Caramel Apple Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2006
Perfect pork chop recipie. I doubled the sauce, diced the apples and added diced onion. Picky husband (not a big apple fan) loved it. Asked me to make it more often. I have tried many other pork chop recipies, but, this is the winner.

Banana Blast I

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2008
My Mom made this growing up. Great recipe, but, needs tweaking. This is how we make it: 2 bananas, 1 tray ice, about a cup of milk, 2 shakes of nutmeg, and SUGAR, 1/4 cup. For anyone who hated this recipe, try it again like this. It's sweet and creamy and delicious!

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2008
Awesome recipe! I love it. I was craving something baked and all I had was some frozen canned pumpkin. This was perfect. Kind of crunchy on the outside, but, sweet and perfect on the inside.

Country Fried Steak and Milk Gravy

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2008
Amazing recipe!!! I always make patties out of ground beef, eggs and crackers. Also, I add seasoning salt and pepper and garlic powder to the flour. The gravy is amazing. I made this in my cast iron skillet, it always comes out great. I burnt my tounge on this gravy, that's how good it is. I was literally eating gravy by the spoonfuls.
