About this Cook
Married to my best friend, and the mother to a beautiful baby girl. I'm 29 years old, and having the time of my life living in a foreign country and absorbing a whole new culture with my family.
My favorite things to cook
I love experimenting with new dinner recipes, almost every week I try something new. I love making pasta dishes with penne, or grilling some marinated chicken. And I love to bake, mostly cookies.
My favorite family cooking traditions
A secret BBQ sauce recipe that's been handed down a few generations. Some day when my daughter is old enough, I'll teach her too!
My cooking triumphs
Thanksgiving Dinner 2009, serving 15 soldiers. There were no leftovers, they ate EVERYTHING!
My cooking tragedies
Divinity fudge when I was in high school, my brother still calls it Seagull Poop (10 years later)!

Chewy Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip Cookies
After looking at the recipe and reading the reviews I knew I could solve the "pancake cookie" problem easily. Instead of using 1.5 CUPS of butter, just use 1 cup. Doing this made my cookies come out perfectly! They're soft, moist and just right.

Buttercream Icing
This was so easy to make, and was pretty tasty. Not the best buttercream icing I've ever had, but when you're just looking to throw something together quickly, this one will definitely do the trick!

Famous Butter Chicken
I followed the recipe for the most part. Only difference is that instead of using garlic salt, I used garlic powder. I like a lot of garlic, and not so much salt. Plus I the crackers I used were already salted. The cut of chicken I used was really thick, so I did end up having to cook it for 40 minutes. I know a lot of people said 40 was too long, but it all depends on how much chicken you're using. Overall, this came out awesome - and my husband loved it, which is why I'm giving it the 5 stars!
