Banana Pudding I

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2006
I prepared this yesterday and just ate a big bowl of it for Easter brunch. It was delicious! As suggested I doubled the recipe for 9X13 dish and cooked it on medium heat which thickened it up just fine. I topped it with whipped cream and crushed vanilla wafers. This banana pudding has that wonderful homemade flavor that you cannot possibly get from a boxed pudding mix.

Chocolate Thumbprint Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2005
These cookies were good. The vanilla icing is a nice touch. The only complaint is that they could have been a little moister. I will cut down on the baking time next time to solve that.

Cream Cheese Christmas Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2005
I think these cookies are great. I appreciate the fact that they are not overly sweet. I did make a few changes. I did not add the chopped pecans and I doubled the vanilla extract. Instead of pecan halves on top, I used candied cherry halves. I put red cherries on the ones rolled in green sugar and green cherries on the ones rolled in red sugar. They look so cute and festive!

Blue Ribbon Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2005
These are very good and easy sugar cookies that melt in your mouth. I left out the lemon extract and rather than dipping the bottom of a glass in sugar, I just rolled the balls in sugar ... then flattened them.

Chocolate Meringue Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2005
These are very good. Next time I make these I'm going to increase the cocoa a little to make the chocolate flavor a bit stronger.

Black Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2005
This is the best chocolate cake I've ever eaten. As suggested by others, I added 2 teaspoons of instant coffee granules to the boiling water and I used half butter and half shortening. I covered the cooled cake with a ganache of 4oz. semi-sweet chocolate and 4oz. bittersweet chocolate melted in 1 cup of heavy cream brought to a boil. It was to die for.
