Southwestern Turkey Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2009
This is a really good soup. I varied it a little to use what I had on hand, but the essence was the same. I like that I can vary the heat factor and the recipe is so flexible.

Easy Turkey Tetrazzini

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2009
I had to adapt this recipe to what I had on hand. Five starts for being able to make a great sauce based on this recipe. I didn't have canned soup (never do) so I used milk with cornstarch and added celery and onions instead of mushrooms. Turned out very tasty.

Broccoli Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2009
I really liked the mayo sauce for this salad. Very creamy but not overpowering. I substituted the sunflower kernals for almond slivers and skipped the bacon (we don't eat bacon) and the recipe was great.

Mediterranean Vegetable Stew

Reviewed: May 11, 2009
This was easy to out together, though I think it needs a little something extra, something smokey. Going to make it again, though, and experiment a little.

Jalapeno Jelly

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2009
This is a good basic recipe for jalapeno jelly. I use my own jalapenos from the garden and just a little less pectin and it turned out great.

Texas Enchilada Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2007
I used this sauce in my enchilada soup. So much better than the store bought!

Pocket Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2007
This bread reminded me of Indian fry bread, without the fat! Nice bready taste, and good texture. I do think, though, the breads need to be rolled out a little thinner to get a less dense bread for easier folding. But this is a great recipe. Thanks for sharing.

Mango Gazpacho

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2006
I love this recipe. Here in Phoenix in the summer, the temps can reach 110 degrees. This soup is perfect for those too hot to cook days. I've varied this by adding a banana or a peach. Thank you for sharing!

Lemon Butter Cookies

Reviewed: May 15, 2006
I've made these cookies several times, sometimes substituting orange for lemon. They have a light, delicate taste, and the recipe allows for versatility. You do need to watch that they don't overbake, but the time set out in the recipe is pretty much on target.

Bulgur Stuffing

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2006
Very nice alternative to rice. My husband and I liked that this dish had the flavors of stuffing - without the fat. We're on heart heathly diets and this dish provides plenty of grain and veggie with plenty of flavor and texture.

Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2005
I made this recipe as is, except I didn't use a whole packet for the topping. This bread is perfect for light snacking, or for breakfast with coffee. I like that it's not so spicey, keeps it light, I think; but should you want it spicier, it would be easy to adjust. Plus, it smells wonderful, and looks very pretty on a fancy plate.
