Hawaiian Bread I

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2001
OMG!!! This is the BEST!! I JUST received my breadmaker (after much begging) for Christmas a week ago and this is the second loaf I've ever made. It came out PERFECT!! I have the Oster breadmaker and no adjustments were needed to make this!! My Autistic son waited the three hours for this and ate every drop I gave him (which is highly unusual for him). Thanks Teresa!!

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2002
This was totally EXCELLENT!! I did take it out and slice it about an hour before serving:). It was wonderful and the best I've had. The only thing I wish was better was my ability to slice the meat thinner, lol.

Basic Cheese Polenta

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2002
I really enjoyed making this! My husband is from the San Francisco Bay Area and every elegant restaurant makes Polenta in a variety of ways. I had to try this!! I added some garlic and fresh minced Basil to this recipe. It came out beautiful and fragrant. I sliced and lightly browned it in some olive oil. I served it with a cranberry chutney mixed with a few chopped pickled jalepenos. The outcome was marvelous!! Thank you so much!

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2002
This recipe was wonderful! I'm ashamed to say that I've always used the 'box' for au gratin potatoes. This recipe is heaven. The ONLY thing I did a little different is that I browned the flour and butter (to make a dark golden roux) a little longer than called for. I do that also with my homemade mac/n/cheese. This recipe is definately a keeper, thank you!

Pizza Pinwheels

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2002
I made this for my kids for a summer lunch. It was a complete success. The Boys really enjoyed them. I took the advice of others and diced the pepperoni, but I think next time I'll leave them whole to see the difference. thanks so much for a great recipe.

Easier Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2002
I used this recipe as a springboard to fit my needs (a/k/a what I had available, lol). I made this with very thin center cut pork chops. The outcome was excellent! I modified a few of the other ingredients to follow suggestions of other review(ers). I added a cup of sweet Marsala wine and used a pound of fresh sliced mushrooms. I also simmered covered for 20 minutes and uncovered for an additional 10-15. The last 5 minutes, I added about 1/4 cup heavy cream and about a tbsp of corn starch slurrie to thicken. It turned out so good!! My husband hates pork and ate in total amazement. I served this with Wild Rice. Thanks for a great recipe!!

Fettuccini Alfredo I

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2002
My nephew is a huge lover of crab, so I always pick up the 'imitation crab' as a treat for him. Recently, he grew tired of eating it by itself, so I went in search of a recipe to incorporate his crab in. THIS ONE IS AWESOME!! An eleven year old picky child scarfed it down! I only added 6 ounces (which equated to 98cents worth of the stuff) of the crab and whala! He had so much that his stomach began to hurt, lol:). Thanks Jane!! Just a quick note, this was the most inexpensive dish I've ever made and it is so sought after by adults when you 'go out'. This one is a keeper.

Baked French Toast

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2002
(I'm shouting here)YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE TO READ REVIEWS TO FIX A RECIPE!!!!! I thought, being this recipe had over 230 reviews and rated 4 star average that I would be just fine! It ruined my Christmas breakfast!! Usually reviews give you ideas on enhancing, not fixing. Next time, I'll be more careful. This was soggy and looked like the eggs you pass up on the buffets! The top tasted great, but the bottom looked so bad, I couldn't eat it. I will search for another recipe next year.

Honey Mustard Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2003
I used this recipe to help me figure out how honey mustard (creamy looking kind) was made. I used more mustard than called for and less mayo. It was very, very good! Thanks for giving me the base to make my own!!

Crispy Coconut Chicken Fingers

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2003
My father is an accomplished italian cook and I brought this for his birthday feast as an 'extra'. My brother in law scarfed it down as did all the kids!! I did have a little scare though, forgot to drizzle the butter on top before cooking, but not to worry! I just put it on when it was done and used the broiler just long enough to hear a little sizzle. Otherwise it would have been too dry. It came out perfect. I also decided to follow advice of other posters and decided not to turn it, it was perfect!! Thank you so much!!

Spinach Dip I

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2003
I only gave this a four star because again, used as a springboard to fit my own needs! I used 'Lipton Herb Garlic' soup mix instead of vegetable and also added some cayenne pepper for a little kick. I minced up about a half cup of water chestnuts and WOW!! What a great recipe. THanks for the inspiration!! (oh yeah, almost forgot, only had canned spinach, it worked perfect:).

A.1® Steak House Wrap

Wasn't one of the best dishes I've made, the kids said it was 'good, but not spectacular'. My youngest added a dollop of sour cream on his. I don't think I'll be making this again.

Marinated Mushrooms II

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2003
These are an awesome addition to my recipe collection!! I am one of the idiots that buys the little jars of marinated mushrooms that cost a fortune and don't last long. Thanks so much!!! My ONLY regret is that I didn't double the darn batch!!
