Country-Style Steak

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2013
Yummy and inexpensive! I took the advice of other reviewers and added a sliced onion to the bottom of the pan and doubled the gravy. We have a freezer full of cube steak so I will be making this again!

Israeli Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2012
I was nervous about the mint and the seemingly large quantity of garlic, but there was no need to worry! It's awesome. I'll definitely make this again.

Great simple side dish! I recommend adding garlic and parmesan, as did other reviewers.

Citrus Turkey Brine

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2011
I have brined a few turkeys and chickens, and this was the easiest brine I've ever used. I used it for turkey and it turned out great! It's definitely a keeper!

Easy Turkey Gravy

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2011
I am new to making gravy and this was excellent! It makes a ton though. I could have easily halved it and still had leftovers, but that's okay! I am looking forward to using the leftovers for turkey pot pie! I made turkey stock by browning the neck and giblets with onion in butter, then added 4 cans of chicken broth and some thyme and simmered for 2 hours. Then I strained it and added the drippings to make 5 cups.

Easy Peach Crisp I

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2011
I made this with fresh plums and it was amazing! I added enough water to cover the plums half way. Other than that, I followed the recipe. I can't wait to try again with other fruit!

Banana Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2011
I will be making these again! Out of necessity I substituted 1/2 c. shortening and 1/2 c. butter for butter flavored shortening and white chips for semisweet chocolate chips. I love the white chips so much I may just use them next time too!

Crescent Dogs

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2011
These are a guilty pleasure of mine. I use turkey dogs, reduced fat American cheese, and reduced fat crescent rolls. I have never heated the hot dogs first, and I've never had a problem with the rolls being too doughy.

Potato, Broccoli and Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2011
This is great! I only used 1/4 of an onion because that's what I had, plus we aren't huge fans of onion. I took the advice of other reviewers and threw the broccoli in with the potatoes after 8 or 9 minutes. My favorite part of this is that my 2 year old daughter is still eating it as I type this.

Pollo Fajitas

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2011
Delicious! We don't love onions so instead of an onion I used a red bell pepper and it was great! I will be making these again!

Cucumbers with Dressing

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2011
I love this! I used mayo made with olive oil and Truvia in place of the sugar. I think it will be fun to experiment a little by using other spices (I have a garlic dill seasoning mix that I think would be yummy) or maybe even try plain Greek yogurt in place of the mayo. Thanks for sharing!

Eggplant Parmesan I

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2011
I first want to say that it tastes really good. That being said, it's all sauce! I feel like I made a creamy spaghetti sauce and stirred a little eggplant in. I actually cooked some pasta so I could use up all the excess sauce. I only used 3 cups of sauce and I probably could have used half of that and it would have been fine. If I make this again, I think I will add lasagna noodles to the pan, or at least double the eggplant.

Baked Kale Chips

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2011
Wow! Thank you so much for giving me a way to get my 22 month old daughter to eat a green vegetable! I wasn't sure what to expect but they are delicious! I followed another reviewer's advice and used butter flavored cooking spray. Talk about easy.

Plum-Apple Butter

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2011
I have never tried apple butter before so I don't know what it's supposed to taste like but this is delicious! I had plums and apples that I needed to use up and this was perfect for that. I ended up with a little more than 3 pints. I put it in half-pint jars and am going to give it away to family. The flesh of the plums I used was red and so my plum-apple butter is a beautiful deep red color. I love it!

Easy Tomato Soup Spice Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2011
This was very moist and yummy. I gave it four stars because I think the tomato soup made it salty, which wasn't awful, but I didn't care for it. I used a store brand, so I wonder if that contributed to the problem. I didn't notice any other reviews with that complaint. I will try again with Campbell's or maybe even a lower sodium variation.

Easy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2011
This is just what I was looking for! I buy cake mixes by the case when my grocery store has its case lot sales, so I am always looking for ways to use them. I used 1 1/2 c. milk chocolate chips because that's all I had. I definitely think 2 c. semisweet would be better! I can't wait to try this recipe with different variations, like chocolate cake mix and vanilla chips.

Speedy Homemade Salsa

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2011
Just what I was looking for. I used 5 fresh tomatoes because I had some that I needed to use. I also think next time I will try to use fresh lime juice in place of the vinegar.

Broccoli Potato Soup

Reviewed: May 18, 2011
This is just what I was looking for! I had broccoli I needed to use up. This is also great because it's one of those recipes that you can keep the ingredients on hand and make it in a pinch. I only used half an onion (finely diced) and 1/4 tsp. dried basil. Thanks for sharing!

Fresh Mango Salsa

Reviewed: May 16, 2011
This is my new favorite thing! I took it to my parents' house and we served it over baked tilapia. It was delicious! I'm going to eat whatever's left on baked tortilla chips.
