Debdoozie's Blue Ribbon Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2012
Fantastic recipe. I've made it twice, and it was great both times. I did substitute one pound of ground beef for a pound of hot Italian sausage.

A-Number-1 Banana Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2011
This was fantastic. We were looking for a lighter texture than a banana bread, and this is perfect. We topped it with 7 minute frosting.

Cream Peas

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2011
I doubled the recipe and had to substitute canned peas. I followed the advice of a couple of reviewers and added some pepper as well as a teaspoon each of onion powder, garlic powder, and cumin. They were fantastic. We will add this to our list of regular dishes. We happened to have heavy cream on hand this time, but I will use regular milk next time.

We had a lot of peaches, so we doubled everything and had a very nice cobbler for our dinner party.

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2009
If I could give 10 stars, I would give them all to these brownies! These are the best brownies I've ever eaten. They are fudgy, moist, dense and wonderful. I used 1/2 white sugar and 1/2 brown sugar as many others suggested. I also used a 9x13 pan and they still came out very thick. Thanks for the great recipe.

Barbie's Tuna Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2009
The whole family agreed that this is the best tuna salad we've ever had. I did add chopped boiled egg. I've also swapped the tuna for chicken to make a great chicken salad. The recipe can be multiplied with great results.

Tomato-Topped Sole

Very good way to cook fish. We loved the bed of onions. I added some dill weed to the butter mixture. We will make again.

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2009
I was amazed at how good this turned out. The recipe didn't sound like it would taste that good, but there were so many good reviews that I had to try it. I doubled the jalapeños and mixed the parmesan with bread crumbs for a topping. The topping baked up very nicely. I followed the suggestion to broil some french bread for dipping. One note - I used miracle whip (since I had no mayo), and it gave the dish a very slight sweet note. I will be sure to use real mayo next time.

Peach Cobbler II

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2009
This was fantastic. I followed several of the reviews and used 6 peaches and only 1 cup of sugar in a 9x13 pan. I also added 1 tsp vanilla to the milk in the batter and a little grated crystallized ginger to the peaches. I used the entire 2 cups of boiling water and it turned out with a great consistency. I'm adding this to my list of keepers.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2009
I've been making this dip for over a year now. It gets rave reviews each and every time. Many people have asked for the recipe. I follow the recipe exactly except for using blue cheese dressing in place of the ranch.

Sausage and Egg Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2009
We made this for family on Christmas morning. Everyone loved it! I liked it because all the work was done the night before. All I had to do was bake it during the present opening festivities! We will make this whenever we have company saying over.

Chicken Tetrazzini for a Crowd

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2009
Everyone loved this. I used egg noodles since that's all I had at the time. Also, I didn't use all of the chicken stock recommended. We'll make this one often!

Spinach Cheese Manicotti

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2009
Fantastic! I followed the recipe exactly, except it took an additional 15 minutes in the oven. My wife orders manicotti quite often when we are out. She said this is the best she's ever had. We also made alfredo sauce (from this site) to go over the manicotti on the plate. We will make often!!!

Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2009
Fantastic, rich sauce! I did as some had suggested and added garlic and pepper. I used it on manicotti which had plenty of red sauce. If you are going to be using this sauce for an alfredo dish, you will have to double or triple the recipe.

Spanish Rice II

I used to buy the boxed mix. This recipe blows the mix out of the water. I've made this several times and add garlic and sliced black olives, if we have them.

Russian Mushroom and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2008
Even though this soup is very good, I decided to give this 4 stars because it's not one that I'll make again. It is good, but it didn't stand out in any way. While eating it, my enitre family thought of other potato soups they liked better.
