Beer Lime Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2008
I marinated the chicken for 4 hours and it had no flavor! Sorry, but don't waste your time on this one.

Shrimp and Mushroom Linguini with Creamy Cheese Herb Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2008
Sorry, but I was hoping it would be worth the reviews but it just wasn't very good. I thought the sauce looked thin but it did thicked up nice on the pasta. However, out of the 4 of us nobody cared for it.

Reuben Dip

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2008
I have made this twice now. The first time I followed the recipe to a "T". The next time I changed it to my families taste. I used 1/4 cup mayo and 3/4 cup Thousand Island rather than half and half. It gave it more of the Reuben flavor. Also I just mixed everything together rather then layering it. It seemed to make no difference to us and it was a lot faster. To keep it warm I used a heating pack form the pyrex portable (I'm sure a crockpot would work great too). I served it with cocktail rye bread. This is a keeper and everyone always wants the recipe!

Creamy Dill Cucumber Toasties

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2008
I made this for a shower and it went over very well. I mixed it together the night before and added half (1 tsp)of the dill. The next day I spread it on cocktail rye bread and used seedless cucumber and sprinkled with the remaining dill. It was a big hit.

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2008
We loved the rice and I am not a big rice fan. I made it for my husband who likes any type rice. I was shocked that I enjoyed it so much.

Best Black Beans

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2008
Very bland and needed a lot of playing to make them good. We ended up serving them over Mexican Rice III and they were great. 3 stars because of all the doctoring and then adding them to another recipe to make them work.

Blue Cheese and Pear Tartlets

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2008
This sounded great but it just wasn't. My husband & I were going to serve them at a party. We didn't care for them so I had a friend try one and she said not to serve them. A total waste!

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2007
I used Hienz ketchup because we didn't have tomato sauce on hand. I liked this a lot. My husband said it was good, worth 4 stars nothing wonderful.

Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2007
I read reviews and cut the butter and oil in half and double the marsala and sherry. Also, I added a 1/2 cup of green onions (we like the flavor it adds). The cooking sherry made this a lot sweeter then we are used to. My husband like it, I thought it was ok. If I make it again I will adjust the sherry and marsala a little.

Blue Cheese Burgers

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2007
We make blue cheese stuffed burgers all the time. We gave this a try and it wasn't as good as our own. We season the meat and then make 2 smaller burgers and put the cheese in the middle of one burger. Then place the other on top and press the sides. It gives it a much better blue cheese flavor.

Shrimp Scampi V

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2007
I added 1/4 tsp lemon juice and 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes. Next time I will try doubling both. I used a garlic press instead of mincing the garlic (yes a lot faster). Easy and fast recipe, worth a try.

Baked Scallops

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2007
This is a keeper. However, it needs a little spice and maybe more cheese. VERY EASY and the small scallops are very sweet.

Sorry, but we found these to be oily and lacking in flavor. My husband had to doctor them up so we could eat them.

Beef or Chicken Marinade

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2007
I used a London Broil and marinated it for 9 hours. It was better then unmarinated meat but nothing special. It probably works better with chicken.

My husband and I didn't think it was anything special. I had high hopes because of the reviews. I didn't use fresh dill which my have been the problem.

Special Occasion Stuffed Crown Pork Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2007
It was a little dry. We baked it at 375 for 1 hour and then lowered the temp. to 325. Also the stuffing was to moist. Maybe if we didn't use fresh bread cubes or left out the apple juice it would have been better.

Way too much pepper! Not just the red, all the peppers need to be reduced in our opinion.
