About this Cook
I am a caterer. I have been cooking since I was little. My mama was an excellent cook. Several people have asking for my recipes and I have to explain that I learned how to cook by watching my mama. It's a handleful of this and a sprinkle of that. I also cook Wednesday Night Suppers at our church for about 60 people. I am used to cooking for a crowd and am always looking for 'large crowd' recipes.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook. I don't like to 'bake' that much. You have to be too exact; there's too much measuring.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I grew up cooking at my mama's knee. I am proud to be carrying that traditon on with my son who is ten. He perfectly frys eggs, grills steaks and hotdogs, and is proficient with knives. He's my little chef!

Home Made Farmer's Cheese
I took the advice of the reviews after trying this recipe the first time. I got a much better yeild. I also let the milk come to room temperature, and that will help to keep the milk from scorching before coming to temperature. Good idea...fun for the kids and my son came in 2nd in the science fair for making cheese!!!

Blueberry Vodka Martinis
I made this for my Dad for Christmas. It came out great. It tasted good and was a very pretty color. I used the frozen berries. It's hard to find fresh at Christmas. The frozen add a better color and diffuse quicker.

Pumpkin Bread
I could not get this recipe to work. My bread came out gummy and heavy. Even with adjusting the cooking time like suggested. I admit, I'm a cook not a baker...
