About this Cook
I'm a Nurse Anesthetist who usually loves to come home and try to prepare a healthy and tasty meal for my family and kids. We try to have a vegetarian dinner two to three times a week to give the kids a nothing-but-veggie option!
My favorite things to cook
ETHNIC all the way! New flavors, colors, ingredients and tastes! Love it! My next goal..homemade Pho!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Involving the kids in the my parents did for me. Hopefully they will love it and learn to be great cooks for themselves and their families one day!
My cooking triumphs
Perfectly cooked turkey on our families Thanksgiving celebration of 60+ people! There's no room for error!

Indian Curried Barley Pilaf
My whole family loved it! I added 1 full tsp of curry powder like the other reviewers plus a cinnamon stick, extra cumin and termeric. I omitted the almonds and raisins and replaced with peas and carrots. I served it with rotisserie chicken the first night and sprinkled it on a salad the next day. Made me feel good to feed my family this meal.

Brown Sugar Smokies
Takes a few minutes to individually roll each 'dog' into some bacon..but WOW...used an single toothpick per smokie and this was a huge success. I left them in the oven a bit till the crisped up and they were fantastic..super easy!

Angel's Old Fashioned Beef Stew
This is a beef stew that my 16year old babysitter, who hates MEAT and ALL VEGGIES can eat TWO CUPS of! This is a beef stew that my 3 and 4 year old will eat and ask for seconds...veggies and all!! I highly recommend trying to use less beef broth (add a tablespoon of beef broth powder) and 2 10oz cans of crushed tomatoes!!! wow..flavor EXPLOSION! a MUST eat in this house!
