Born in raised in south Florida, I am a single mother of two, 5 and 3 years old. Between raising my two babies and working full time I don't have as much time as I would like for my hobbies. In my spare time if I am not in the kitchen baking, I am on eBay! I have also been a vegetarian for 16 years.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy baking mostly, but also enjoy cooking sometimes. My favorite things are new recipes. I also bake and decorate cakes for special occasions.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom did not cook too much. Hot dogs and beans in the microwave were her specialty. So all my recipes are from friends or this site.
My cooking triumphs
I recently started decorating kids cakes and they have been turning out beautifully!
My cooking tragedies
When I first started baking, I was baking a recipe that required 6 eggs and one of my eggs had 3 yolks in it! I couldn't decide if I should count it as 1 or 3! A friend and I baked cookies one time and accidently used Bisquick instead of flour! Her mom had them in glass jars on the counter. We were about 14 years old. We ate them anyway! YUCK!

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way
I made this for Thanksgiving this year. I'm a vegetarian but evryone loved it. It was an easy recipe to follow.

Easy Decadent Truffles
I have one word..MESSY!!! I thought this recipe sounded easy enough, and it was...but what a mess. After refridgerating for one hour I attempted to roll into balls. They were VERY gooey and extremely STICKY. I made 1/3 with almond flavor and coated with hot cocoa mix, walnuts, and white chocolate drizzle. I think the final product looked OK(see photo), and tasted delicious...because of the mess I am only giving this recipe 4 stars. Maybe using a melonballer, as others suggested, would have made things "neater". I'll have to try that next time. Thanks for this recipe.
