Three Berry Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2012
Decent starting point for a recipe. Like others, I added more cornstarch and also just plain flour to the filling to thicken it up. I used 2 quarts of strawberries, 1 pint of blackberries, and one cup of frozen blueberries (thawed). I also used half white sugar and half brown sugar. I also added cinnamon and a dash of nutmeg to the filling. I did not have any problem with the pie coming out runny. Very tasty served slightly warmed. I will make again adding raspberries.

Baked Ziti with Sausage

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2011
This is a good recipe. This is now my go to when I don't know what else to make for dinner. Easy to make in large quantities. I use hot turkey sausage and I saute the onions and minced garlic with the sausage. I also add fresh mushrooms and spinach to the sausage mixture to get some veggies in my diet. I add more of the spices than called for, and I don't use salt. I also use 2 jars of sauce because I don't like dry pasta. I also top it off with a little fresh mozzarella, extra italian seasoning and then I broil for the last 2 mins or so to make the cheese nice and bubbly. Serve with a nice green salad or green vegetables and you have yourself a great meal!

Cherry-Blueberry Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2011
I cheated, but basically the same concept. I used 1 can of cherry pie filling and one can of blueberry pie filling. I added more cinnamon. I also made my own crust using this recipe from here

Pumpkin and Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2010
I'm cooking this now and can't wait to serve it. I couldn't find andouille sausage so I used spicy turkey sausage. I also added a few dashes of black pepper and garlic.

Easy Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2010
I took suggestions from other users but I still feel like this recipe is missing something. I added a TON of pepper and garlic. I also added a few splashes of W-sauce. It was good but not fantastic. Maybe next time I'll play around with a few more spices. I've also seen versions that add tomatoe paste. Maybe I'll try that next time.

I'm biased because this is my grandmothers recipe. You can't get any easier than a 4 ingredient crust.

Peach Pie the Old Fashioned Two Crust Way

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2010
I really like this filling. I used this when I made a peach blueberry pie and it turned out great. But you have to use a real pie crust. Here is a super easy crust recipe my grandma used for years: http://allrecipes.com/PersonalRecipe/62401444/Grandmas-easy-flakey-pie-crust/Detail.aspx

Pumpkin Sausage Lasagna

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2009
Great recipe! I had to substitute a few things. I used 10 noodles instead of 8 in order to fill up the 13x9 pan. I didn't use the recommended sauce, so I addeda TON of minced garlic to the sweet turkey sausauge as it was cooking. I added extra basil, oregano, pepper and garlic to the cheese mixture. I also used about 22 oz of spaghetti sauce instead of the 15. I used Hunt's Zesty Spicy sauce because it has so much flavor. I used fat free ricotta and skim mozz. I poured about 20 oz of the sauce into the turkey wine mixture. However, once I covered the noodles, it just didn't seem like enough so I poured a little more sauce. The next time, in order to make it not so dry, I would recommend increasing the wine and broth to 3/4 each, 1 cup of the pumpkin, and adding about 22-25 oz of spaghetti sauce to the cooked mixture. Fabulous meal that I intend to make again very soon!

Italian Zucchini Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2009
OMG this was great!! I just made it for dinner to go along with grilled pork tenderloin. I had three servings! I used diced tomatoes that were already seasoned with oregano, basil and garlic. I sauted EXTRA minced garlic with the onion to give it more flavor. I also used pork stuffing mix to go along with the tenderloin. I used dried spices and added extra, per other reviewers. WOW, this was soooooooo good! I will definitely save this receipe for next year!

Grilled Cilantro Salmon

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2009
This was a great recipe! I let it marinade for a few hours rather than just the few minutes the recipe called for. I also grilled it wrapped in foil to keep the taste in and it worked out great. I threw in a few scallops into one of the foil packets and they tasted great as well!

Easy Chocolate Bundt Cake Glaze

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2009
This glaze is fabulous! VERY quick to make. I just wish it didn't make so much. It was way more than I needed for my bundt cake. I kept adding more and more to the cake-- it was a bottomless pit of glaze! But oh so good! I give it a 10!

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2009
This cake was very easy. I think there is an error in the size of the pudding box. I used a 1.5 oz box of sugar free, fat free and it turned out fabulous. I also recommend topping it with the Easy Chocolate Bundt Cake glaze. http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Easy-Chocolate-Bundt-Cake-Glaze/Detail.aspx?prop31=1 mmmm delicious! Perfect for Valentines day!

Very good dip. However, instead of Franks, I highly recommend Texas Pete's buffalo wing sauce. Tastes so much better!

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
Not a bad recipe but you need to add some spices! I added garlic and pepper and that added some good flavor. Also, like others, I would recommend a darker beer. I used a ligther beer since that was all I had and I definitely regret not going out to get a 6 pack of some good dark beer to add in.

Confetti Tortellini Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2008
Great recipe! Like another reviewer, I didn't measure either. You do have to use a ton more italian dressing as the tortellini soaks everything up. I also added chunks of mozz cheese and pepperoni. I have received multiple rquests to make this for picnics.

Reuben Dip

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2008
What a great recipe! I took this to a memorial day party and numerous people asked me for the recipe. I did alter it some. I used a larger jar of sauerkraut as well as added more 1000 island dressing. Although another reviewer warned against using low fat dressing, I used fat free kraft 1000 island and it was fabulous! Very tangy and perfect. We served this with fresh marbled rye bread. I definitely recommend this for any summer BBQ or party!
