Fresh Pear Cake
My husband and I both really enjoyed this recipe. I halved the recipe and baked it for 1 hour in a loaf pan, since there were only 2 of us. I also used white whole wheat flour, only used half the amount of nutmeg, and added 1/4 tsp (1/2 tsp if you were making the whole recipe) of ground ginger.

Wedding Cake Frosting
I basically just halved this recipe and used all butter and no shortening. I used 3/4 cup butter, 4 cups powdered sugar, 1 tbsp vanilla bean paste, and 4-6 tbsp heavy cream. Perfect topping for my vanilla bean cupcakes. =) The heavy cream makes the icing light and fluffy.

Banana Cake II
I browned the butter and used sour cream in place of the milk. Topped with a glaze of 2 tbsp browned butter, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar and 3 tbsp milk. Really good.
