About this Cook
Goals include: Maximum flavor + healthy eats on budget.
My favorite things to cook
Finding the bestest pizza crust recipe is like the quest for the holy grail. I am always in search of recipes enabling my garlic habit, too.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Any recipe handed down from my grandmother and mother. You know the kind; they fill you with pride and nostalgia all at the same time. All time best, never to be shared outside the family, hand-me-downs: Rosie's Cheeseballs, Polish Mistakes & Ammonia Cookies.
My cooking triumphs
Continuing the family tradition of "MacGyver Meals", improvising with anything left in the cupboards/refrigerator, and having people ask for the recipe. A priceless talent for thin-pocket times (THANKS MOM!).
My cooking tragedies
My first attempt at a curry dish. Every bit of it was horrible, from the nauseating color to the soggy vegetables. It is the only time my husband has asked, "So, should we order Chinese?"

Blackberry Pie I
Not runny, not too sweet- Big hit at Thanksgiving. As other's suggested, I brushed bottom crust with egg wash just prior to filling and baking. I was a little short on blackberries, so subbed some chopped Granny Smith apples to fill in. I will use this recipe, again. Thanks!

Lobster Dip
This recipe was delicious. I made small changes after perusing the other reviews, but only adjustments in ingredient quantity (i.e. bit more lemon juice, less cream cheese, fresh lobster). Definitely a keeper! Thank you.

Easy Broiled Lobster Tails
As a first-time lobster cooker, this recipe was not intimidating and made for a simple & delicious way to broil lobster tails. I followed the directions to the letter, and it was perfect. Thanks!
