About this Cook
Wife, mother of three adorable daughters ages 14, 10 and 6. I use Allrecipes.com every week to put together great meals for my family and when we entertain!
My favorite things to cook
I love to make soups and stews, also love to do appetizers, make great pancakes, spaghetti sauce, and mashed potatoes!
My favorite family cooking traditions
From scratch as much as possible. Growing up in the midwest, we are big into the comfort foods, though I've tried to lighten up several of my favorite main dishes.
My cooking triumphs
My Turkey Chili, mashed potatoes, and a crab manicotti that is absolutely to die for.
My cooking tragedies
A terrible vegetarian stew with garbanzo beans, diced onion, vegetable soup, tomato soup, yams. Oh, it was just awful. It was the result of trying to be creative with an empty pantry and being too busy to run to the store during a hectic work week!

Zucchini Brownies
Super delish recipe. The cake/brownie is wonderful all on its own, but I must say the icing makes it heavenly. With the icing, decadent dessert. Might as well heap some vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup on it. Without icing, relatively healthy snack-style cake. HUGE difference in calories! ;) I do cut the sugar down by one half cup, and use both applesauce and oil in this recipe.

Hash Brown Casserole for the Slow Cooker
This was good and very fast and easy to put together, but my crock pot dried it out quite a bit - I wonder what I might be able to add to it to make it moister?

Julia's Easy Slow Cooker Chicken
This was good, but a little bland. Next time I would follow the recommendations of those that used more seasonings. I used sliced baby red potatoes, and they cooked nicely. I also added sliced onions AND the onion soup mix, and only used 1.5 pounds of boneless skinless chicken breast. The family did like it. My picky children at it right up!
