Mexican Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2005
Loved it! My husband told me this goes on his favorite dishes list. My only suggestion is to make sure you use the "burrito size" tortillas if you want to be able to wrap and pick it up. We used the "soft taco" size and ended up eating it open faced with a fork and knife. Kept it from being too messy -- depends how you want to eat it.

Savory Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2005
Very flavorful and tastey. I did not add the butter on top or use all of the bread crumbs, but it came out great!

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies IV

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2005
We loved these cookeies! I had bought some "baking raisins" on sale that are supposed to be already moistened, so I didn't soak the raisins that long (30 minutes). The cookies came out delicious and were a nice treat for my husband.

Oatmeal and Wheat Flour Blueberry Pancakes

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2006
Soooo good! I used probably 3 times more blueberries than suggested, and used 2% milk rather than soy. These pancakes were hearty and delicious!! I had a difficult time flipping them at first -- it's really important to let them cook on the first side for long enough. Also, we had some of these left over, so I wrapped them in foil, froze them, and reheated them for about 10-15 minutes in the oven for a great weekday breakfast.

Cream Puffs

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2006
Delicious! This was a fun recipe -- I had never made cream puffs before. I followed a lot of reviewers' suggestions. I added 1/2 tsp. vanilla to the pudding mix, used white chocolate pudding, an put the pudding mixture into a ziplock bag to mix (less dishes to wash and then cut off a small corner to use as a pastry bag). For the puff shells, I added 1 tbsp. sugar and 1 tsp. vanilla, let the dough micture cool for about 10 minutes before adding the eggs and mixing in my stand mixer, and then made the dough balls on the baking sheet small (quarter sized). I baked them at 425 degrees for 10 mins., then at 375 degrees for 15 minutes, and then I turned off the oven and cracked the door and let them sit for 5-10 minutes. Thanks for all the great suggestions and a great recipe, they came out perfectly!

Pasta, Broccoli and Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2005
So tastey!! We loved this pasta!! I cubed the chicken before cooking it, and then I cooked it in a frying pan with a little olive oil, lemon juice, and garlic powder which gave the chicken a nice flavor. I suggest starting the boiling water right away like the recipe says. I waited a little while and forgot how long it does take for water to boil, and then you can time it so the pasta is done at the same time as the sauce. I followed other reviewers' suggestions and added a third tablespoon of pesto and that seemed like a great amount. We love tomatoes so next time I would add more. GREAT recipe!

Pork Chops with Fresh Tomato, Onion, Garlic, and Feta

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2005
Wonderful recipe! I followed the other reviewer's advice and braised the pork chops in chicken broth. It was the fist time I ever had pork chops that I didn't think were too dry. And the tomato topping had so much delicious flavor! I will definitely be making this again.

Whole Wheat Honey Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2005
We loved this bread! It was slightly sweet, soft and slightly dense, and healthy. I followed this recipe almost exactly but used the basic bread setting instead of wheat as another reviewer suggested. I also used heart healthy margerine and a little less salt. Delicious!

Yakisoba Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2005
We loved it! It had great flavor and we loved all the veggies in it. I used the less sodium soy sauce (I recommend this since you do use a lot of soy sauce), and added some green onions. I also used thai red curry paste instead of the chile paste because that's what I had on hand, and I used less than called for because it would be too spicy for me. The first time I tried I added the red curry paste with the oils in the pan, but it burned very quickly. So I threw that out and added the paste in with the chicken and soy sauce, and it worked just fine! Also, make sure to cut the carrots into pretty small pieces because I think mine were a little to large and they didn't quite cook all the way through. You'll enjoy this recipe.

Bread Machine Challah I

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2005
So tasty and moist! I am still pretty new at using the bread machine, so I got nervous when it looked really wet during the rising time. Much to my relief it came out perfectly! We love the taste, and my husband said it's his new favorite bread. I followed another reviewer's advice and took the bread out of the machine right when it was finished so it would not continue to cook/get brown.

Pork, Cashew, and Green Bean Stir-Fry

This was SO good! The pork was so tender and flavorful. I added some extra garlic, but otherwise cooked recipe as directed. I let the pork marinate while I prepared everything else. I highly recommend this dish!!

French Toast I

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2005
Great, classic french toast. I added all of the spices as suggested and enjoyed the taste, although I would probably use less nutmeg next time. I used the rest of a loaf of french bread that we had bought the night before, so that made it extra tastey. I also followed another reviewer's suggestion and covered the pan with a lid so the middle would also cook.

Chicken-and-Pasta Bake with Basil

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2006
Delicious! Great subtle flavor, and the cheese sauce is rich without being too heavy. Another reviewer said they did not like the broccoli/basil combination, but I thought theh flavors mixed well! I'll definitely make this again.

I made this recipe using Trader Joe's tomato basil pasta sauce and loved it!! I followed the recipe except I added extra sauce (just used the whole jar). Will definitely make again!
