Alienated Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2000
Too many Blueberries and they all sunk to the bottom.

Cantonese Dinner

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2000
This recipe is more a cross between BBQ pork and sweet and sour pork. It was OK, but extremely easy and uses ingredients I keep on hand.

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2001
This pie was absolutely delicious, I've tried a lot of apple pie recipes and this was the best. I only used about 3 Red Delicious and 3 McIntosh apples. I also added some cinnamin and nutmeg to the sauce. YUM!

Slow Cooker Sweet and Sour Kielbasa

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2001
I was looking for a new recipe for kielbasa and I thought this would be good and easy. I was disappointed. It smelled great, but the sauce was way too tangy and did not taste right with the flavor of the sausage. I would not try this again.

Awesome Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2001
I love carrot cake and this was my first attempt at making one. It was FANTASTIC!!! The best ever!! My extremely picky husband even said it was the best he had ever tasted. I will never buy another carrot cake from the grocery store again. I thought it was very easy to make (food processor). I took the advice of others and only used 1 cup of oil. I also found the icing a bit runny, but it was delicious.

Puerto Rican Meat Patties

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2001
This was a different way to use ground beef. I liked the taste. The egg roll wrappers were so big, they needed more meat to fill. My picky husband liked this recipe. Required a long time to make for the mediocre results. I would use the meat portion in a plain corn taco shells.

Fresh Strawberry Pie I

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2001
This made a delicious pie. I quartered the strawberries and added more of the glaze. Turned out wonderfully. Definitely will make this one again.

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2001
I was expecting some phenomenal biscuits after reading the reviews. These were pretty good, not a big deal. I even wrapped the dough and let it rise a while, it did not rise any higher than any other biscuits. Maybe I goofed somewhere.

Best Chicken Ever

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2001
This is a different way to prepare ordinary chicken breasts. I added a bit of Parmesan and Cheddar cheese (after reading the "Cheddar chicken" recipe). It was yummy.

Mandarin Orange Cake I

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2001
I was disappointed in this cake. I had hoped it would delicious, but I found it rather bland. Mine turned out extremely dense. Maybe it was the cake mix I used (Duncan Hines moist deluxe classic yellow)? Or, the oven temperature. The "frosting" yielded a lot. I used only about 3/4 of the amount, and it still overpowered the cake.

Acapulco Margarita Grouper

Reviewed: May 16, 2001
This was made a fantastic dinner, very light and summery. We used mahi-mahi, and it turned out perfect. It was very flavorful. The "pico de gallo" was yummy slightly warmed by the margarita.

Fast Food Biscuits

Reviewed: May 31, 2001
These biscuits were fantastic--the best ever! They were so light and fluffy, and they rose about an inch while baking! I tried the JP Big Daddy biscuit recipe because everyone raved about it, I was extremely disappointed. This recipe on the other hand was absolutely delicious.

This was good. The meat mixture would be excellent used in tacos or even just with tortilla chips.

Grilled Salmon II

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2001
This was a great recipe. Wonderful flavor! I used salmon steaks rather than filets. I should've soaked them in the marinade longer because it did not really permiate the meat. I definitely will make this again. Thanks for the recipe!
