Seven Layer Tex Mex Dip

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2005
Wow...this was a great hit and gone in an hour! Upgrades I made were to include 1 (16 oz) jar of Mrs. Renfro's mild salsa in the layering and to add 1 spicy guacamole mix packet to the guacamole to give it some zip (the spice packet can be found in most produce sections). The layering should be refried beans, salsa, guacamole, sour cream/mayo/seasoning mixture, etc. The reason for this is the first time I made it and placed the salsa next to the sour cream mixture it made one big mess on the platter and didn't look to appetizing (even though everyone inhaled it). The second time around it look much better on the plate when the salsa was not next to the sour cream mixture. Great easy appetizer for any ball game!

Ali's Amazing Bruschetta

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2005
Wow...these are great! I didn't even get them out of the oven and everyone had their plates out. Upgrades I made were to purchase a sourdough bagette and have the bakery cut them into 1 inch slices (this way if you have extra bread you can freeze it). I then lightly spread olive oil over bread and sprinkled garlic salt next. Place them in the oven until lightly toasted and remove. Add remaining ingrediants however sprinkle fresh mozzarella cheese on top and cook until cheese melts and/or bread toasts. These were a great hit!

Cocktail Meatballs III

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2005
Wow...I finally found a sauce to complement my meatballs. I do agree...do not by frozen meatballs as homemade is much better. The upgrades I incorporated were 2 tbls of sour cream as it made the meat much moister, 1 (28 oz) bottle of Heintz Tobasco Ketcup (for a little more zip) and a few splashes of Franks Red Hot Origianl sauce. I then added a few more splashes of red tobasco sauce and a little bit of water in the slow cooker so as to take away some of the "ketchupy" taste while maintaining a moist sauce. These were a great hit!
