Fancy Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2009
This is a flavorful, attractive chicken salad. I've even served it to a group men on croissants and they loved it too (after later telling me they thought croissants sandwiches was "lady" food and it would never fill them up) Only change, add about 1 tsp. of white sugar for just a little sweetness with the dill and vinegar.

Sweet Snack Mix

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2009
Love this stuff! Also tried making it with white almond bark and it turned out just as yummy as the original recipe with white chocolate chips. My mom makes a similar recipe by the name of "Santa's Snack Mix". Both are an A+!

Chewy Chocolate Cookies I

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2009
Very yummy! I actually make these cookies into bars for catering. I add about 1/2-1 cup extra flour like others stated and pat the dough into a jelly roll pan with a rubber spatula or lightly wet fingers. Everyone loves them and they don't last long!

Strawberry Pineapple Chicken Bites

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2007
I teach a Foods class in a high school and one of my kitchen lab groups chose to make this recipe. Like stated before it's sweet with a little spice and tastes like sweet and sour chicken. You get a nice reddish glaze. Would go really well with rice and some stir fried veggies.

Cherry Pie III

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2006
Just the perfect sweetness despite the very tart cherries I used. Not quite enough filling to accomplish a full pie, but worked wonderful with a lattice crust. I had to let my filling simmer about 5 minutes extra to thicken, but once it did it set up nicely. This pie cut perfectly and kept it's shape when dished out.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2006
Excellent cookie dough to work with. Cookie itself was rather bland and adding frosting makes the cookie a 5*. Texture was also cakey instead of the crisper, crunchy cookie I was looking for. Still a good solid cookie recipe!

Blue Ribbon Overnight Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2006
VERY GOOD!. Ever so slightly sweet, yet great with meat and potatoes! Made for Easter dinner and they were a hit. Make sure warm milk is not too hot to avoid killing the yeast and preventing it from rising. I had to use very little flour to roll out and cut the dough into wedges with a pizza cutter. I let them set for a few hours while at church-may want to wait until after church to roll out because they almost over rose.

Sour Cream Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2006
Very tasty dish. I made it with 2 pork chops and 2 chicken breasts in the same pan and they all turned out great! Didn't need full hour of simmering to cook through, but neither meat toughened while I left it on the stove to stay warm.

Very Berry Cheesecake

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2006
Nice refreshing cake and a nice presentation. I had to bake about 15 minutes longer than the recipe stated. Used mix of blueberries, mulberries, and raspberries which worked just fine. Cottage cheese seemed like an odd addition, but didn't notice any variation in the texture.

Peanut Butter and Jelly Cheesecake

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2006
Very strong taste for only 1/3 c. peanut butter! A dense cheesecake that I needed to bake for about 15 minutes longer than stated in the instructions. Would make again, but not for a special occasion of any sort.

Jamie's Minestrone

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2006
This soup was very flavorful and nice and chunky! I've worked at the Olive Garden and hands down this beat their minestrone. I let it simmer about 45-55 minutes and it was wonderful!

Lemonade Pork Chops

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2006
Light lemony flavor that's unique, yet not overbearing at all. Didn't have celery salt so I substituted seasoned salt. My boyfriend said it was great and even said I should give this marinade recipe to his dad so he could use it! Will definetly use again!

Tuna on Toast

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2006
I liked this recipe but tweaked it a bit hence only the 4 stars and not 5. I added about 1 tsp. pepper and 1/2 tsp. creole seasoning for more flavor and 1/3 cup flour to thicken it. I wouldn't suggest preparing the cream of mushroom soup according to label because that is how mine got so thin.

Sunday Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2006
I had a very difficult time handling this dough. Even adding more flour than called for it stuck to everything and barely rolled out. Once they rose and were baked you couldn't even tell that they had been formed into a cresent roll. They looked like biscuit blobs. They tasted decent, but not good enough to ever want to deal with that dough again.

Cream Puffs II

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2005
These were a good cream puff but I wasn't quite sure if it was necessary to remove the softer insides. I replaced the filling with a mixture of vanilla pudding and cool whip-it was great! Definetly make sure to cook long enought to make them nice and crisp.

Sauerkraut Balls

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2005
Interesting! I didn't know what to think at first, but tasty. Crispy on the outside and very tender on the inside. Tip: make sure not to have too much oil in the pan when frying! I didn't measure the oil with the first batch and eyeballed it-they turned out a little soggy from laying in oil.

Pico de Gallo Chicken Quesadillas

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2005
I only made the pico de gallo, but it was fabulous. My boyfriend and I ate it with chips..he even set aside his jar of store bought to eat my "homemade concoction" instead. The only change was I used lemon juice because I didn't have lime juice.
