Spicy Black Bean Cakes

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2009
I made the recipe exactly as written. It was ok. For a recipe that has onion, jalapeno, and garlic in it, there wasn't a lot of flavor. The sour cream was excellent, though, and was the one thing that made the dish interesting.

Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2009
I made for my brother and so. Both enjoyed it, but neither has asked me to make it again. I did switch to fat free 1/2 & 1/2. 41g of fat per serving is a little to much.

Easy Broccoli Quiche

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2009
This recipe was fine. There's no reason to layer the ingredients like the recipe says. Add the veggies to the egg/milk mixture. Also, next time I may cut down on the amount of milk. Just not neccessary. The recipe does take abou 45 minutes to cook. Definately not done at 30.

Sloppy Joe Sandwiches

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2009
I always ate homemade sloppy joes growing up. The first time I had mamwich, I couldn't believe people liked the stuff. This recipe is very good and similar to what I ate growing up. I made it as directed, except for adding some vinegar.

Sauerkraut Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2009
This is crazy, freaking good. I used 1/2 the sugar recommended, but otherwise made as directed. My significant other and I both loved it. Will make this with all leftover sauerkraut from now on.

Candied Kielbasa

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2009
The sauce tastes like any cocktail sauce with extra sugar in it. It's not bad, but probably won't make again.

Fennel in Wine and Honey

Excellent. If you like fennel at all, you should try this. It goes together with very little effort.

Slow Cooker Cranberry Pork

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2009
You don't really get any cranberry taste after slowcooking it. It all got eaten, but no one was raving about it.

Thai Chicken Pizza with Carrots and Cilantro

My friend and I agreed that this was pretty good, but not great. Picking a peanut sauce you love is key.

Veronica's Hot Spinach, Artichoke and Chile Dip

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2009
I loved this dip. The addition of green chilis and jalapenos give the dish a taste of spiciness with out the burn. It was great for a group of different people. I baked the dip in a 9" pie plate. It needed to cook for 40 minutes in the pie plate.

Happy Shrimp

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2009
This recipe is pretty tasty. I served it over pasta like some other reviewers suggested. As written, it's a main dish meat serving and doesn't make enough sauce to serve over pasta. Also - while it is tasty, it's not tasty enough to justify the fat. I will make it again, but use less butter, try fat free half and half, and not serve it on pasta.

Chicken Pesto Pizza

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2009
This recipe is very good as it is written (mostly as written - I used the mozzarella I had on hand instead of fontina). I also made this for a picky friend of mine, skipping the artichokes and adding quartered cherry tomatoes. Which I also found delicious. She picked off the tomatoes and loved it. :)

Migas II

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2009
This dish is delicious with salsa and sour cream on top. Any of the sides recommended by other reviews would probably be great as well. Without toppings/sides, the recipe would be a little bland.

Carol's Chicken Salad

Tasty chicken salad. I made as directed. I'll use a little less poultry seasoning next time, but that's the only change I'd make.

Very tastey. I used fresh mushrooms. The pasta dish is drier than expected, but it was still good.
