Sandwich French Toast Casserole
I was looking for a way to make a baked Monte Cristo as I had an overabundance of deli ham and this fit the bill. I used shredded cheese instead slices as that I'd what I had on hand as well as sprinkled a bit of nutmeg into the custard base. I served it with a raspberry and maple coulis for dipping. To make it a more authentic Monte Cristo, I may top the ham with deli turkey as well. But this was fantastic, thanks Piques for sharing this recipe!

Apple Honey Bundt Cake
Needed an apple cake to take along to Rosh Hashanah and this fit the bill nicely. (A side note: I used Buckwheat honey which made this cake super dark, but I thought delicious. However I got mixed reactions from my family). The second and third time I made it I lessened the amount of sugar by a quarter cup. Halved the amount of oil and subbed in baby food applesauce. Replaced the cinnamon and allspice with Penzey's Cake spice (because I had it on hand). Added an additional apple and shredded half, then diced the other half for an added textural element; drizzled the apples with orange juice to keep them from browning. I did skip the nuts each time I made it because my family for some odd reason doesn't like them in baked goods. Thank you Jayda for sharing this recipe!

Better Slow Cooker Robust Chicken
I tried this recipe after my friend recommended it. Now my husband and daughter (whose under 2) both enjoyed it, but I thought that the wine and balsamic vinegar were really overpowering. I agree with another reviewer that I would leave the bacon bits out and use as a garnish; possibly saute the chicken in some of the bacon fat with some herbs before tossing it in the crock pot. So I'm going to play around with this recipe until I like it as well...maybe change the wine used or use white balsamic vinegar instead of red? Thank you Kimber for posting this recipe.
