Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
I didn't have time to put this in the slow cooker so I made it on the stove top. My chicken breasts were frozen so I boiled them before placing them on top of the soup mixture and I also sauteed the onions a little bit so they would be soft and also used the recipe for Bill Echol's Taco Seasoning. Otherwise I pretty much followed the recipe as written and it was delicious. Best chicken taco soup I have found.

15-Minute Herbed Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2009
I have to give this 5 stars since it takes no time to prepare and is quite yummy. The recipe doesn't call for any spices and I was afraid the chicken would be bland, so sprinkled pepper and garlic powder on the chicken before I browned it. I don't know if it improved the taste any. My husband has requested I make this recipe at least twice a month.

French Dip Sandwiches

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2008
I don't have a pressure cooker, but this works just as well in a crockpot. I love recipes where there is minimal preparation in the morning and dinner is ready when you get home in the evening. This is a family favorite. We never have leftovers.

Crescent Beef Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2008
I added some chili powder and crushed red peppers to the beef mixture because after tasting it I thought it was kind of bland. But in the end it was very good and the kids loved it and I will be making this again.

Blackberry Cobbler II

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2008
I think I put too much hot water in the topping because it pretty much just flattened out over the blackberry mixture after it baked, but it was still delicious and very easy to make.

Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2007
I read the recipe wrong and didn't warm the garlic and the olive oil. Instead I put the olive oil and garlic in a zip lock bag and let the chicken marinate in the mixture in the refrigerator until I was ready to use it. Preparation couldn't have been easier. I wasn't sure my 9 year old son would like it so I cut one of the breasts up to share with him and he ate it all up before I could have any.

Spicy Hot Chicken Legs

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2007
If I could give this recipe 10 stars I would. 5 for being so easy and another 5 for being so tasty! A little on the spicy side but it didn't stop my 9 year old son from having seconds.

Ronnetta's Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2007
We loved this sauce. I like that the onion is grated. It makes them well hidden so the kids don't complain. I did add 1 tbsp of sugar to make it less acidic and piled on the garlic, but other than that I followed the recipe exactly as written.

Zucchini and Pork Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2007
I cooked it exactly as the recipe stated except I let it simmer a lot longer than 8 to 10 minutes because I wanted the meat to be extra tender and the result was a nice thick vibrant red broth. My eight year old didn't wait to ask for seconds, he got up and helped himself. He said I need to cook this every 6 days. Will definitely make this again.

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2007
I had to give this 5 stars since I had every ingredient on hand and these were so easy to make. Although I've probably had better biscuits, they still came out big and fluffy and my kids loved having fresh baked biscuits in the morning.

Marchetti

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2006
Very tasty. The processed American Cheese made the sauce nice and creamy. My daughter got mad because there weren't any left overs.

Prize Winning Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2005
Wonderful recipe and so easy to make. My family loves these ribs and asks me to make them regularly. I make extra spice mix to have it on hand. I too wondered which rack to cook the ribs on, so I put put the foil on the grill and the ribs on the top warming rack. I find that I have to cook the ribs a longer than what the recipe states to get them tender, but we have a big family I probably make more than 3 lbs of ribs at a time. I experimented by cooking two racks of ribs at the same time, one with the membrane sheath removed and the other without, and removing it definitely made a big difference.

Caramel Chocolate Corn

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2005
Easiest caramel corn recipe I've found yet. I don't trust my microwave so I cooked the caramel recipe in a sauce pan on the stove but followed the rest of the recipe as written and it came out perfectly. I didn't get to put any chocolate on the caramel corn because I couldn't get my family to leave it alone long enough to cool, but I'm planning to try it with the chocolate next time. This recipe deserves an extra star because it was so easy to clean up afterwards. You throw away the piece of equiptment that gets the dirtiest, the paper bag.
