Pork Chops Over Rice

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2007
OMG is this good..I did make another recipe out of this cause it is easy to and I just made it now...here are some changes though..yeah yeah...browned up (5 thick boneless)chops..set aside..to same fry pan added 1 diced pepper, muchroons, a bit of onion (1/4ish cup)plus, 1 and a half cup FRESH green beans halved, pinch of basil and oregano and a dash of cayanne pepper, saute until it start to smell nice, add 1 cup long grain rice, stir until rice is opaque, add 1 cup fresh skinless diced tomatoes, 1/2 cup tomato juice ( I used V8) and 3/4 cup water...simmer 5 minutes. Add a bit of basil/oregano/ chili pepper to outside of Pork chops. Transfer rice mixture to casserole place chops on top, cover and place in preheated oven to 350 degrees. Cool 1 hour and 15 minutes. I am doing this here because to get a new recipe publish here is insane and I did use the basic recipe with mods...sorry

Roast Chicken with Rosemary

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2007
Great recipe. I used thyme instead of rosemary though...personal preference. I too added thyme, onion, garlic, celery and carrots to the cavity. Used an oil rub on the outside with more thyme/poultry seasoning. I did use about 1/2 cup chicken broth and 1/2 cup wine in the bottom, raised the chicken out of mixture with a rack. Did two small chickens. 1 for dinner, the other for soup. Amazing homemade broth when you make stock with veggies from inside birds. THE BEST stock I have ever made. Thanks for post.

Vietnamese Fresh Spring Rolls

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2007
These tasted fantastic. As per other reviews and personal taste did not use the mint or the cilantro. I added bean sprouts, other than that followed exactly. I also used the sauces, must haves :) I find that boiling the noodles makes them soggy, so I soak the noodles in very warm water for 10 minutes and they always come out perfect. I do this with all rice noodles. Excellent recipe, thank you

Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2007
This was sooo easy to make, and delicious! I used 1/3 cup of uncooked long grain rice and it came out perfect. I also cooked mine in the oven at 350 for about and hour and a half. Used the extra leaves on the top and the bottom, and made twice as much sauce by adding diced tomatoes. As per other reviewers I also added basil and oregano to the meat and sauce. Very yummy, thanks for the post.

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2007
This is the only recipe I use now. We don't even by pizza from a pizzeria now. My husband who thinks pizza is "the perfect food" won't let make any but this. I follow the recipe directions exactly and it come out perfect every time. I prebake the crust on a lightly oiled pizza stone, usually earlier in the day, then we can top it and cook it when we are hungrly. BTW, this dough also makes for an amazing Calzone crust as well.

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2007
Not that this recipe needs another 5 stars, but I couldn't help myself. I made this for my husband and parents and they loved this. My husband asked me after dinner when we can have this again, and my dad wants to be invited over again when we do have it !!! I did make a few changes, I added sliced muchroom and diced red pepper for color. I also used a bit more wine, and cut down a tad on the cream. I cooked as stated in the recipe and it came out perfect. Thanks for the Post, I will be making this again often :)

Made this last week for dinner and it turned out great. I did use carrots and green beans. I also used left over mashed potatoes for the top. This was great. Served it with beef gravy on the side. I will be making this again for my family.

Spaghetti Carbonara II

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2006
Very good recipe. I am giving it only 4 stars due to the fact I had to add way more bacon and more oil than called for. I did use the wine as well and that really makes the flavour. I used another readers suggestion and used cream, I will not be doing that again. Made this dish to creamy and it shouldn't be that way. I also mixed the eggs (3) with the cheese and tossed with the pasta just before serving. Overall a great recipe that I will be making again.

Guinness® Corned Beef

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2006
I cooked this in my crock pot for 7.5 hours on high. Added the potatoes/carrots and cabbage wedges with 3 hours to go. Smelled wonderful but nothing was cooked. Put everything back in the crock pot the next day and re-cooked for another 6 hours on low. That was wonderful!!!! I will make this again, but next time I will cook this for at least 10 hours on high, and I will add the veg much sooner. If you follow other reviewers instructions you should have no problems. VERY SLOW cooking is needed!!!

Yummie :) I just made this cake and WOW is it ever good. A bit heavier than I thought it might be, but it is home made after all. I took other peoples suggestions and up'ed the cocoa to 1 cup. Other than that followed recipe exactly. Thank you very much.

I tried this recipe with the Herman starter found on this site. This bread was extrememly sweet. I was not impressed with the density of the bread either...came out to heavy. Will not be making this again.

Herman Sourdough Starter

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2006
THis was a very sweet starter. I tried three different recipes using this starter and all of them were too sugary. I will also be trying a starter that calls for MUCH less sugar.

Mama D's Italian Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2005
This is the second time I made this bread and I thought I'd try making half the batch into rolls. I pulled off chunks of the dough, lightly rolled it in my palms to make it smooth, let rise as stated and baked for about 20 minutes, misting every 5. After 10 minutes I turned the rolls upside down to finish baking. WOW were these every AWESOME as rolls!!!! I will be making these again and again!! Thanks!

Baked Spaghetti Squash with Beef and Veggies

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2005
My husband absolutely loved this meal!! It has a wonderful flavour! I had followed other readers suggestion and added two tins of tomatoes....I will not be doing that again, made it way to runny. I will also add just a bit more ground beef next time as well. This is now a meal that will be in our regular line up of menu ideas. Thank you very much Robyn for this great low-carb recipe!!!!

Slow Cooker Pork Chops and Rice

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2005
This recipe has a good taste to it. The pork chops came out perfectly and could be cut with a fork. I am only giving this 4 stars due to the fact that the rice did come out mushy. I will be making this again, but probably not for company.

There is no doubt that this is one of the best rolls recipes I have ever had. My husband almost prefered the rolls over the main course. This recipe will definately be used again and again. Thank you for the recipe, I only wish I could give it more than 5 stars!!
