Vanilla Glaze

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2009
Yummy glaze! I put on top of a chocolate bundt cake. I did have to add more milk than the recipe called for. I used almond extract and colored the glaze with orange food coloring, so it looked more like halloween colors. I topped with crushed walnuts. Very easy glaze.

Strawberry Angel Food Dessert

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2009
This was soo good. I used a strawberry cream pound cake instead of the angel food cake. For the glaze, I made my own following the Strawberry Glazed Pie recipe, from this site, which I doubled, without using the pie crust. I made it the night before and it was not at all soggy. I also made it in a trifle bowl. This will be a keeper. Thanks for sharing!

Mexican Rice II

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2009
This was awesome! I didn't have tomatoe sauce, so I did some fresh tomatoes in the food processor. I also used 1 tomatoe bouillon cube made with chicken flavor along with 1/3 cup chicken broth, like one of the others did. I sauteed bellpepper, onion and minced garlic with the rice. I also added a little red pepper.

Slow-Cooker Pepper Steak

Reviewed: May 24, 2009
This was great! I didn't use garlic powder, instead I used minced garlic. We like more gravey so I doubled the bouillon cubes and water. I used the whole onion only one bellpepper and didn't add it until an hour before it was ready. Instead of white sugar I used brown sugar. I will for sure make this over again.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2009
I made this cake yesterday for a meeting. It was really good, a few of the guest commented on how good it was and asked me if I made it. I only used 3/4 cup of oil and I added 3/4 cup of walnuts in the batter. I topped it off with the icing that another member put in her reveiw and served it with vanilla ice cream.

Creole Chicken I

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2005
I made a few changes to this recipe. I used 1 whole cut up chicken, with the fat removed, sprinkled with season all.I added 1 chopped onion,I didn't have green onions, and chopped garlic. I used diced tomatoes with green chilies. I did not use ham or sausage. Cooked the breast and thighs for an hour in the crock pot before adding the legs and wings. The meat started falling off the bone before the onion, garlic and bellpepper was cooked.I had to remove the chicken and let the gravy cook an hour longer, Next time I will just wait an hour before adding the chicken. We just spooned it over the rice. My husband loved it! We are from Louisiana, Cagin Country
