Habanero Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2013
Yes! everyone is so surpised when we make these cookies. We have been making them for about 6 years now. We also soak the peppers twice. 3 times is too much. Love love love these cookies, but make sure to have a side of milk.

Sweet Cornbread Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2013
I love sweet cornbread. I was afraid that this might be too sweet so I cut the sugar down to just 1 cup and I would say it was pretty perfect, I could have kept the sugar as the recipie stated and it would be great, too. This was fluffy cornbread, which was awesome with so many recipies thin and dry. Definatly a keeper!

Fresh Papaya Jam

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2010
This was yummy. Mine did not set quite as well as i would have liked, however it was my first time making Jam. I used only one package of pectin per another users review, maybe that is where, I went wrong? I don't know. It was still a yummy and a fun way to use a bunch of papayas that my neighbor gave me from her tree

Creamy Ham and Rice

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2010
This was decent for a last minute meal. I didn't have water chestnuts or pimientos. I added some onion with the green pepper. It wasn't the best meal I ever ate, but it was just fine.

Sweet and Sour Sauce I

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2009
Finally a good s-n-s recipie! I said, this is the best one I have ever made and my 6 year old daughter said, "No it's the best in the world" I think others used more ketchup. The only change I made was substituting pineapple juice for the water, I had some from a can of leftover pinneapple. It was excellent. Definatly have found a keeper recipie. No need to buy it anymore!

English Trifle to Die For

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2009
Yummy Yummy! We all loved it! I doubled the cream, cake and whipped cream, per others suggestions and layered it twice. I used frozen raspberries, since out of season, and it was great. Loved the homemade custard!

Apple Orchard Punch

Very easy and very yummy! I left the apple out, it was just for our little family, so we didn't need the presentation. We all loved it.

Yummy Lemon Salmon Burgers

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
Kids loved them! I used 3 (6 oz) cans of salmon and baked them at 325 F for 10 min on each side, per, other user. Mine only made 4 and 1/2 (made a small one for my baby). So I guess mine were a little bit bigger. They stayed together for the most part. Overall, pretty impressed. I would make more of the lemon mayo though, I couldn't taste enough of it.

Turkey Mercedes

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2009
Definatly a keeper. So yummy!!! I roasted my turkey on a rack and the liquid evoporated after the first 2 bastings. I just added about 2 cups of water to the pan and basted that in (it mixed with the flavors in the pan) and it still turned out great.

BREAKSTONE'S Curried Mashed Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2009
Pretty good. My kids didn't care for them, but they didn't care for the sweet potatoe fries I made either. they just need to get used to sweet potatoes. I may make them again because sweet potatoes are healthy.

Broken Thermostat Curry

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2009
my first try at curry. Very yummy. I added a bit more cayanne and red pepper flakes. It was almost too spicy, but our tounges got used to it. My kids liked it too. My husband said it needed meat, of course, although I did think as eating it chicken would be good in it.

Filet Mignon with Rich Balsamic Glaze

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2007
Oh my goodness good. I actually was worried because I was making this for my husband and I ended up having this on the stove for about 20 mins or so. And I know filet mignon is not good overcooked but I just turned down the stove to very low and let is cook VERY slowly and soak in the juices. My husband, the cooking connoisure, said that is really the better way to cook it anyway. I actually did something right. He loved it and so did I and I am not much for meat cooked below med well.

Old Fashioned Coconut Cream Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2007
Yummy yummy yummy. I used the changes that many people suggested, if you sort the reviews by most helpful you will find them all. Like the cornstarch, coconut extract, coconut milk and making it in the micowave (worked like a charm). It was just too yummy. I will make it for my mom when she comes and visits. She loves coconut cream
