No Fail Pie Crust III

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2005
I mixed the ingredients in a food processor for ease. The dough seemed awfully wet- I was forced to use LOTS of flour to roll it out- even on a silicone baking mat. It did turn out nicely, though- with both a quiche and a pie. A good find overall

Wet-Bottom Shoofly Pie

A very good recipe- my family is Pennsylvania Dutch in heritage, though we now live near Philadelphia. This is like the Dutchies make it! I was successful using 1 cup molasses (Brer Rabbit brand makes a full flavor, which I like, and mild flavor for those who want a tamer version) instead of the 1/2 molasses, 1/2 corn syrup blend. I have never krown a PA Dutchie to use corn syrup.

Brown Sugar Cut-Out Cookies and Icing

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2005
Great recipe- ity definitely rivals regular cout out cookies! I added an egg to the recipe and the result was extra moist cookies that remained soft even days later. They seemed better rolled out on the thick side.
