About this Cook
Over the years I have changed my cooking and eating habits. I go to the pool 3 times a week and walk in the water. I have medical issues that restrict my physical activity right now. You really need to change a whole life style of eating as you age. I should have started younger.
My favorite things to cook
Breakfast omelets, lamb stews, paninis, casseroles. Anything in the slow cooker, pork dishes
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family raised me on lobster, shrimp, crab, all fish, and chowders. Beans and hot dogs every Sat.
My cooking triumphs
turning unhealthy recipes into healthy ones
My cooking tragedies
My first stew, only cooked 30 minutes. Birthday cake I frosted warm, hid the cake to find the top had slid off onto the floor. Now at 65 I am finding I forget to put an ingred. in recipes. It is 4 years since I posted my info. I am battling an illness that explains why my cooking has gone down hill over the past few years. I do not cook or bake any longer, but I love to find recipes for my DH to make:)

Sam's Famous Carrot Cake
This the best Carrot Cake!!! All the above said it all. I used my buttermilk powder. I use a lot of buttermilk and find I never run out if I keep my ready to use powder on hand. Thanks for the recipe. Sam will be remembered by all.
