Country Fried Steak and Milk Gravy

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2005
Tasted great! Husband and kids LOVED it! Will make again!!! I didnt make the gravy part though, I needed to use a packet of gravy that has been sitting in my cupboard. Also, I substituted canola oil for the lard with no problems. I do have to add, I agree with MBUENZLI's review- Country Fried Steak is not supposed to be exploding with flavor. And for anyone having problems with the batter falling off the meat when you fry, make sure your oil is heated enough before adding the meat. I do this by dropping a pinch of flour into the oil. If it bubbles like crazy, its ready!

Porcupines

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2007
These were REALLY good! I followed the recipe exactly and I had no problems with the rice being hard. The kids (ages 4, 2 and 1) absolutely LOVED it and gobbled it up. The husband did the same. We have no leftovers! I will definitely be making this again. Not only are they easy, they are fun! The kids loved the way they looked!

Hard Rock Candy

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2006
I like a little more cinnamon flavor than what I got with this, it could be because I used cinnamon extract instead of oil, I honestly didnt know there was a difference. Other than that it came out perfectly and I dont even have a thermometer! I just used the instructions another reviewer gave, when you drop a little into cold water and it instantly hardens its ready. Makes a wonderful Christmas treat!

Simple Lemon Herb Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2005
Very good. I love the tang the lemon gives it. Next time I will use 2 lemons instead of 1. Went very good with broccoli and cheesy mashed potatoes.

Very good recipe! I dusted the wings in flour before frying them. We used Frank's Red Hot sauce- I highly recomment it! The flavor was perfect.

Caldo de Res (Mexican Beef Soup)

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2011
This is similar to the caldo recipe that was handed down in my husband's family. The only difference is their recipe doesnt include tomatoes. Very good on a cold winter day. It is also easy to make in a crock pot. Just skip browning the beef and onions if you are in a hurry, throw all the ingredients together into a crock pot and let it cook on high for 8 hours.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2007
These were awesome! I will be making them again very soon but next time it will be a double batch! I followed the recipe exactly, except that I added some chopped walnuts to the topping. They were delicious, the kids and husband enjoyed them, they didn't even last a day!

Yummy French Toast

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2011
This recipe has freed me from buying boxed pancake mix! There are 5 of us in my family and I have to double it in order to feed everyone if I make only pancakes. The pancakes turn out light and fluffy and have a great flavor. There may be a couple more steps when making these vs. the box mix, but it is worth it and it really doesn't take that much longer. As another reviewer mentioned, don't let the "soured milk" scare you off. Also, the first time I made these I left out the melted butter step because we were out of butter and they still turned out great. Also, if you want to try toppings other than syrup, these taste great with peanut butter, jam, honey, butter and cinnamon, nutella or just by themselves.

Hobo's Delight

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2005
This is absolutely the best recipe I have ever gotten off the internet. I cannot begin to describe how good it was! My 3 year old (who is a picky eater) LOVED it and even asked for seconds! My 1 year old gobbled it up! I will be making this again soon and am sure it will become a tradition in my family. I did add a couple of things- to the hamburger, I mixed in some worcestershire sauce, season all and an egg. I also put a pad of butter on top after placing the veggies in. It has definitely become my family's favorite meal! *****5 stars!!*****

Korean Cucumber Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2007
Smells wonderful and tastes great! I only gave this recipe 4 stars because I ended up tweaking it a little. The sesame seeds and red pepper flakes were so overpowering I ended up adding another cucumber and carrot to balance out the flavor. Next time I make it I will only use 1 tbs sesame seeds and 1/4 tsp or less of the red pepper flakes. Other than that it goes great as a side to any Korean BBQ dish and compliments kimchi wonderfully!

Rolled Buttercream Fondant

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2007
The flavor was good. It wasnt as easy to work with as the pre-made wilton kind you can buy in the store, but it did taste better. It fell apart fairly easily but I did manage to get it on the cake. The texture wasnt very smooth but I was pleased with the end result. Its not something I would use on a wedding cake. It was easy to make and the ingredients are things that are easy to find and keep on hand so overall I have to give this 4 stars.

A Plus Fair Corn Dogs

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2005
These were okay. Not the easiest thing to make if you're not using a fry daddy. I fried them in a skillet so they ended up being rectangular shaped. I could have done without all the grease. Other than that, the taste was very close to county fair corndogs. Doubt I will ever make them again. It is easier to buy frozen corn dogs. Less mess, less grease- even if you fry them, and the taste is about the same.

Ground Beef Zucchini Skillet

This was good but definitely lacking something. I made it with angel hair pasta and it tasted ok but I just cant put my finger on whats missing from it. The kids didnt eat much of it so I probably wont make this one too often.

Frost Me Nots

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2005
These were ok. If you are craving chocolate and have no other options, than make these, but throw them out the next day because they dont taste good unless they are right out of the oven.
