Shredded Beef Chimichangas

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2008
This was a great starter for me. I tweaked it for my own needs, and it works well for many different things! I use the crock pot from start to finish on this one, love the smell throughout the day, and less work for me!

My entire family from my husband down to the baby loved this. Followed the directions to a T, and served with glazed baby carrots, and smashed potatos. Thanks!

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2008
This was an awesome cake! I loved it, super simple to make, my husband loved it, and had no idea what was in it, since he always claimed he hated carrot cake.....right......and the 3 little ones loved it too. I did alter it after reading the reviews, and used 3/4c oil, 1/2c applesauce, added an extra tsp of both the vanilla and cinnamon. For some reason it did dip in the middle when it came out, but who cares, it was AWESOME! For the icing I used only about 3cups or even a little less than that with the powdered sugar. Thanks, this is for sure a lifetime keeper!!!

Zesty Porcupine Meatballs

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2008
For me these were great tasting. All three of my picky children enjoyed them, so for sure will make this again. The only problem I ran into was they were literally falling apart on me. I think next time I will add a little bread crumbs. Other than that, I precooked my rice since I didn't have any instant rice, and most time when I add uncooked rice it never cooks to the consistancy that we like. I still added it in as the recipe said, and it was wonderful! Thanks for this keeper

This was a great quick loaf to make, I just dumped everything in the breadmaker and called it a day. Will be using this recipe again for sure.

Amatriciana

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2008
I love bacon, love pasta, thought the two together would just be great. My husband did a pretty good job doing justice to the meal, although my three kids wouldn't touch the sauce, so they just got plain pasta. I personally am not a huge fan of stewed tomatoes, and since they didn't break down in the sauce for me even a little, if I was to ever make this again I would just use fresh tomoatoes and cut them to size for my own preference. The bacon in the sauce was a nice touch, but I would have to just change a lot of differnt things to make this again for my family.

Magic Peanut Butter Middles

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2008
These just came out of the oven and my husband and three little ones were standing by ready to grab one and be the taste testers. They turned out well, the kids were a little bummed that I ended up having to do this myself, too hard for the little ones, but they enjoyed the end result. I ended up adding an extra egg, and about a tablespoon of water to the chocolate mix, it helped make it more managable, but other than that they were great! Big hit with a 7,5,and 2 year old for sure! Thanks!

Brownie Caramel Cheesecake

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2007
I am now a kitchen goddess! THANK YOU! Never before have I tried a cheesecake recipe and it turned out wonderful! Everyone thinks I'm wonderful! I ended up using 3 packages of cream cheese, and smuckers caramel topping instead of melting the caramels. Thanks for a wonderful recipe, this is for sure a keeper!

Coq Au Vin, My Way

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2007
It was good, but not to die for as I was hoping. For as much work as I put in I thought it would be so amazing I would want to eat it all myself before even serving. I possibly will make this again, just throw my own twist to it. thanks though!

This was Wonderful! I didn't feel like making a huge dinner, so I did this instead, needless to say we were all very happy with the end result. I wouldn't change a thing on this! This will be hard to beat with other waffles! Thanks so much!

Grilled Bruschetta Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2007
This was wonderful! My husband who does NOT eat tomatoes, raved about it! I made everything inside since I noticed to late the we were out of propane. I threw the chicken in a dish, dumped on enough of the dressing to cover it, and let it sit in the fridge for about 30 or so minutes. I then cooked it on the stove top on a indoor griddle on high heat to get the nice lines, then once it was cooked on both sides transferred it into the oven with the cheese and other toppings, and let it warm though while the garlic bread finished. We had angel hair pasta and broccoli to go with it. Needless to say, no left overs at all! All three kids from ages 2-7 ate it all

Manicotti Italian Casserole

This was a nice quick meal on a weekday. The kids enjoyed it, and I had added some extra spice and seasoning so my husband and myself enjoyed it too. Had crusty italian bread and a ceaser salad to top it all off

Sour Cream Pork Chops

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2007
Holy YUMMY!! I wanted these for dinner tonight, so the 3 kiddies and I ran to the store at 4 and sat down to dinner at 6! Obviously didn't use the slow cooker, just a cast iron pot, browned them in olive oil and butter, deglazed the pot with a little red wine, more butter, added the water, can of mushroom soup, onion, dumped the chops back in, and simmered while the rest of my meal cooked. Near the end I took the meat out, added the sour cream, and some flour to thicken it back up, and served over egg noodles, with baked apples and brown sugar and maple carrots! Awesome meal, I'm for sure gonna have to skip the ice cream tonight!

Sarah's Applesauce

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2007
This was a super simple recipe, my 7 year old did most the work. We added just a little flour near the end to thicken it up, and ended up leaving the apples in pieces instead of smashing them. Went awesome with our dinner tonight! Thanks!

Dad's Favorite Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2005
This is something I don't plan on making again. The noodles should have been precooked, and there needed to be more spices or something, a very bland meal that my family did not enjoy.
