About this Cook
I am a single mom who loves to cook for my family. I am always looking for new and better ways to make my meals interesting.
My favorite things to cook
I love food, I am venturing into lowcarb cooking. This makes baking sort of a challenge, but we'll see.
My favorite family cooking traditions
All American holiday cooking, ham, turkey and candied yams. A couple of times a year I make a homemade lasagna sauce to die for.
My cooking triumphs
My lasagna sauce and chili, wont give the recipies though.
My cooking tragedies
First time I charcoal barbequed was a disaster. Dinner went into the trash.

Old-Fashioned Potato Soup
I made it just like the recipe but doubled it for leftovers, added ham and it is the best soup I ever had. One thing I did do was use some potato flakes to thicken it a little

Belgian Waffles
Awesome! I made these for my mom who fancies herself the best belgian waffle cook ever. It showed her up. She never heard of using yeast. These were perfect.

Colleen's Slow Cooker Jambalaya
I dont know how any one could say this was too spicy??? My family was adding spice at the table. I thought it didnt need any extra, just right. I added scallops to it as well as larger shrimp without tails. It was great served with brown rice.
