Pumpkin Pancakes

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2014
I see all those great reviews and feel I'm doing something wrong. I've made them 3 times now and I can't get them to cook right. They have a wet texture, cook longer and then they are hard to cut apart with a fork and taste tough. I would love some advice, wish this was like amazon reviews where you can post a question and get an answer.

Sweet Restaurant Slaw

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2014
Maybe this has been said but the bags of coleslaw cabbage I buy are 14 oz. Not 16. Otherwise love this recipe. I do cut back on all ingredients or add more cabbage.

Butternut Squash Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2014
I will give 5 stars because this recipe is always my base but I don't follow it word for word, as is 3 stars. As you will see with many of the other reviews. This morning I decided I will never 'cut up' butternut raw again because my hand is still sore. My husband got a 4.5 pound squash - 2 pounds is about six cups. Cook in the oven before... Taste better and so much easier. You must LOVE cream cheese to add that much. You can also substitute heavy cream, milk, potatoes, or a milk/flour/butter thickener. This soup is simple and tasty - great for a cold Wisconsin winter.

Cake Balls

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2013
I used a cheap cake mix with a cheap frosting and it tasted like it. I could try spending more $$$ but can't get past the time it takes to make cake balls. When making into balls it was just too soft. I had waited over two hours for the cake to cool. I ended up freezing the balls before dipping. This recipe is too time consuming for me for what you get. I would never make again. This is coming from a cook who likes making bread, cookies, enchiladas.

Juiciest Hamburgers Ever

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2013
So I will give this 3 stars but will never make this again. Why? I will say that yes the burgers turned out very moist but the texture was sooo odd. The recipe did what it said but it's not for me.

Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup

Reviewed: May 4, 2013
last night was the first time making this - two changes was I added carrots and onions but otherwise did as recipe said : ) How could this not be good - stick of butter & two cups cream? My husband LOVED it - I think it's good (yes 4 stars good) but a little too Paula Dean for me. it's very rich and as it sat got very thick - did add water to thin it out but my husband loves a thick soup. Over all will make again when my husband asks for it.

Peppy's Pita Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2013
Tasty tasty tasty bread. I have made this at least a dozen times. I don't use a bread machine. Mix warm water with yeast - set for a few minutes. Mix rest ingredients in. Put in slightly warm oven for 30. Follow rest of recipe. I don't have wire rack but do use the boil pan. 500 for 6 minutes. I end up with puffy tasty bread almost every time

Amazingly Easy Irish Soda Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2013
I'm giving this 3 stars only because I think this turned out the way it should and maybe I'm just not a Irish soda Bread kind of girl. It looked very yummy but that was about it. tasteless/dry yet spongy in the middle. Just not for me.

Homemade Wonton Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2013
WOW! My new fav soup. I was missing two of the ingredients (shrimp and Bok Choy) but plan on making this again with those added. This soup is great for cold WI weather or I could see when your not feeling so hot. Wrapping the meat did not take that long - I learned that laying the wrapper on the cutting board and placing the meat into it DID NOT WORK. I ended up grabbing a wonton wrapper dipping each side into water and then holding it in my hand adding the meat to it - then squeezing the sides in almost a wave pattern. Took me about an hour to make. Husband was very impressed.

Corned Beef and Cabbage I

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2013
This will be the fouth time using this recipe and it is simple and yummy. The minor changes I do is cut up the potatoes and use small carrots that I don't have to cut or peel. I don't understand why the most helpful review on here does not follow this recipe at ALL! Please post your own recipe and let people review it. I find it NOT helpful to me when reading reviews. If you add Beef broth, brown sugar, mushrooms, onions, even beer. I can understand one or two changes but all that is something different then Corned beef and cabbage.

Best Ever Banana Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2012
I feel like I did something very wrong with this recipe. The only change I did was put in a little more banana and put a full two cups of flour. After the two hours it looked done but soon the top craved in and it taste like it was not cooked enough. I may one day try this again but not any time soon. With all the great reviews I feel it must have been on my part that this didn't turn out.
