Grandma's Brisket

Reviewed: May 7, 2006
Very very successful! Since we can't get ginger ale, I substituted with equal amounts of Coke-a Cola and sweet red wine.

Simply the Easiest Beef Brisket

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2006
Following previous reviews about the recipe being too sweet, I marinated the meat over night in a mixture of 1/3 cup water, 1/3 cup oil, 2 teaspoons of salt and 6 cloves of garlic. Very Good!

Chocolate Chunk Mandel Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2009
I decided to drop the chocolate chips and substitue lemon juice for the orange juice. i also grated a lemon rind. I used wax paper under the loaves, like previously recomended, and it pealed off easily. a very simple recipe, with very good results. I will make this one again! Thanks! by the way, Mandel=almond. I think it's funny that this recipe has no nuts in it whatsoever!

Jewish Apple Cake II

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2011
wonderful receipe! I used 4 small loaf pans and it took less than 30 min of baking. I used 6 apples. lots of cinimmon and sugar like others recommended, and substituted lemon juice instead of the orange juice. it tasted like an apple pie filling and was great even a few days later.

Sugar Cookie Glaze

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2005
I would like to thank "LORIHANKE" for his/her most helpful input. I substituted the corn syrup (unavailable in Israel), for 10-15grams of butter flavored margarine. I also substituted one tablespoon of water, for one tablespoon of lemon juice. The result had a great paste consistency, which I colored all different colors. I used it for a 10 year-old girls-only birthday party, and had each girl decorate her own personal cake (I was lazy and used a Pillsbury mix for vanilla cake). It was a huge success!!!
