Pork Chops in Beer

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2007
i JUST made this recipe and it was sooo good. I wish I had more pork chops. My mother makes this at home with coke instead of beer so you can try that if you're not into alcohol. I followed others' advice a bit and rubbed the chops in salt, pepper, and garlic powder, but not excessively and only right before I put them in. I just eyed the amounts I added and used demurura instead of brown sugar because that's what I had on hand. I baked for 50 min w/ a cover lightly on top and another 15 w/o a cover as someone else suggested and they turned out beautifully tender! I had them with mash potatoes and asparagus, and would def recommend the mash potatoes to dip into the sauce and such. I used a lakeport honey and you could taste a hint of it in the chops. Excellent!

Cherry Cheesecake

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2006
I've made quite a few things from allrecipes.com, but this is by far the easiest I've undertaken. It took me about 5 minutes to actually make. I didn't have the full amount of condensed sweetened milk the reciple called for (the cans were a bit smaller) but it still came out fine. I sliced up strawberries instead of the cherries and it was still awesome. I've made this twice and both times it had gotten rave reviews and it's the first time people have ever asked me for the recipe of something. Very pleased.

Chewy Oatmeal Cookies I

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2006
These were pretty good. As another mentioned, you should keep them in for the full 10 minutes because I took my first batch out after 8-9 minutes and the insides weren't fully cooked. Try to look for a browning on the bottom before removing. Also, I didn't care much for the walnuts in there so I think I'll increase the chocolate chips and raisins next time while losing the walnuts.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2005
This was a very good recipe.. I'm not the 5-star person unless something is to die for, so 4 stars is a very good rating for me. I used margarine instead of butter and that was fine.. didn't soften, I just put it in the microwave for 30 seconds then added the sugar(s)---it was easy and it turned out good. I didn't use the nuts and only had 3/4 of the chocolate chips but they still turned out nice.. the amount recommended would probably be best though, some cookies were lacking in amount (due to me). I also added about 2 tsp of milk to the dough to make it easier to work with (hand mixing) and this was fine (and did make it a lot easier). I left the first batch in for 11 min b/c i was distracted which made the bottoms dark/black but they still tasted fine. The 2nd batch I was a lot more attentive and took it out at around 8 min and they were spectacular! I lightly greased (w/ margarine) the pan for that batch and it worked well.. I'd recommend lightly greasing the pans. I would also recommend saving a few CC's to put on the top before they go into the oven to make sure the CC's are evenly distributed and look nice also. You want to cool them on the pan a bit before taking them off because they will be real soft at first. You can make about 6 more safely with left over dough from the recipe. They all turned out really soft and fluffy (I think the creaming helped), and delicious. One of my housemates exclaimed "No... YOU didn't make these!" lol.

Fettuccine Alfredo V

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2005
This recipe was awesome! I added brocolli and a bit more garlic, and it went over very well. When making this, just make sure the cheese melts or else it will turn clumpy. Many said it was too much garlic, but I liked it! Very good! Thanks

Cajun Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2005
Very good even though I messed up on a few parts. A tip for other newbies like me is to really make sure the eggs are cool or else when you peel them they will fall apart and the shells will be especially hard to take off efficiently. I thought that the Dijon may have been too little but the taste was really evident, so it's enough! Good recipe.

Pasta with Spinach

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2005
This recipe was actually very good.. I was a bit wary of having pasta without any sort of sauce, but it was delicious in the end. I used grated parmesan instead of shredded, but shredded would have made it better. I used 3/4 of the Spinach asked for (thinking it may have been too much) but what's called for is definately the best amount I now realize. I added a bit more garlic and it went well. What I recommend to others with the (nonessential) nuts is to save some to sprinkle on top after tossing the pasta or else the nuts tend to collect at the bottom. Thanks for the recipe!
