Fresh Asparagus Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2012
I just made this, and had to run back to the computer to review - it is delicious! I am on weight watchers and it's 3 points per serving, which makes it a great addition to my recipe book. I used 2% milk instead of soy and nonfat greek yogurt. I also kept adding water to the veggies as they boiled so they could cook for at least 15 minutes. My asparagus were quite thick and I wanted to make sure they were completely soft. When I blended the veggies I let the blender run for about 5 minutes to guarantee a soft texture. The soup came out velvety and smooth, with a creamy texture and a little tang from the yogurt and the lemon. You would think I had used a ton of heavy cream! I look forward to experimenting with other flavors in this soup, like roasted garlic or curry powder. A+ recipe!

Buffalo Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2009
This recipe was a big hit! I made it on a whim after a search for what to do with some leftover chicken I had. It tastes like slightly spicy cream of chicken soup. The only changes I made were to boil my (bone in, skinless) chicken breasts and then use the strained boiling water instead of using plain water and a bouillon cube. Looking forward to the leftovers for lunch today!

Chicken Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2008
This is a pretty good basic recipe but I felt it was a little too vague. Like a lot of others I wasn't sure about how much water to use so I ended up with too much and a thin soup. So I added some dried potatoes and also some corn starch dissolved in water, and added more cream than the recipe called for. I skipped the bouillon because my broth was tasty without it but added extra black pepper and some seasoned salt. After the modifications it was reallllly good.

Saltine Toffee Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2007
Ooooooh my goodness these are SO GOOD!! I used light brown sugar and didn't have any pecans. Also sprinkled some Christmasy red and green striped white chocolate chips on top after spreading the melted semi-sweet chips. A definite new family tradition in our house!

This is SOOOO good! I used yellow and red tomatoes and creamy caesar instead of creamy italian but everything else was according to the recipe. It's so good I'm eating it right now at 9:30AM for breakfast!

Excellent!! I made this for the first time about a month ago and I've had to make it twice again - by request. Takes like a scrumptious strawberry cobbler.

Excellent! I made this tonight in my slow cooker with the pork chunks, red potatoes, onions, baby carrots, and apple (didn't have the squash). It turned out super tender and SO tasty.
