Hummus III

Reviewed: May 31, 2006
Beyond delicious! I thought I needed to make a double batch....but it is so yummy and filling that you don't need to eat as much as you thought! Especially delicious with orange and red bellpepper slices...whole wheat pita...and I stored the rest in the refrigerator. When I wanted to eat some more i just added more EVOO and paprika!!!

Simple Scones

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2006
Unbelievable. These are DIVINE! I double the batch and make 1/2 cranberry with orange zest, and the other half I do with chocolate chips(semi-sweet) and cinnamon. I wouldn't change a THING about this recipe....except maybe take out the calories and fat! YUMMY!!!!

Red Velvet Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2005
Followed the recipe exactly, and I even waited until the next day to try it. It was dry...definitely needed to be followed by something to drink. The icing wasn't great either, it tasted a lot like butter with sugar in it. I added 1/2c sour cream to improve the flavor and that helped some.

Taco Dip

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2005
Generally a good taste, but Way too many beans...cut back to at MOST 2 cans. Then avocado with pico mixed in, omitted the layer of tomatoes, then a layer of taco spiced sour cream, mexican blend shredded cheese, and olives. The more olives, the better!

Aunt Kate's Green Beans in Tomatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2005
Very good! I did throw the green beans in a few minutes (not 45 minutes later) after I added the tomatoes to the garlic/oil. They were delicious. I cooked the whole thing for about 45 minutes. Will make again!!

Turkey Pot Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2005
My family was not nuts about this, but I was! And guess who does the cooking! I would probably add more liquid so it is not so dry, and add a little more spice (husband said it was bland). I used a Pillsbury double crust 9". I used the second crust as the top for the pot pie. It worked perfectly. I thought it was wonderful..

Deep Dish Brownies

Very good! I would add perhaps a frosting or chocolate chips next time, though.

Mouse's Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2005
It tasted pretty good, but the cheese curdled after I took it out of the oven. I did everything by the book, using whole milk, but I did use ALL velveeta instead of 1/2 and 1/2 cheddar. Maybe this was the problem. I also omitted the breadcrumbs.

Absolutely delicious. I cooked this with ground turkey seasoned with Italian seasoning and used light sourcream. This was WONDERFUL!
