Blueberry Sour Cream Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2012
Pretty simple recipe. Every one really enjoyed this cake. I thought it was good, but nothing spectacular. Only thing was it was so tasty/indulgent, that it tasted like I had bought it haha. Didnt have that "homemade" taste. It was requested that I make this for Labor Day. Thinking of adding dried cranberries to it to make a red, white, and blue cake.

Melt-In-Your-Mouth Meat Loaf

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2012
okay, WOW. now let me say this recipe is 5 stars not just bc ofthe taste, but bc of how perfectly cooked it is. this was my first time making a loaf in a slow cooker and now i see it is the only way to go! it comes out perfect and moist without any effort. i dunno about you, but when i make a loaf ill check to see if its done. notice it needs a little time, come back in 5-10 minutes, and now its a lil overcooked :( i like the taste too (im always a fan ofthe ketchup/br sugar topping)

Traditional Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2012
this is exactly how i make my mashed potatoes. simple and delicious. once youve made mashed potatoes a few times, you dont need to follow the recipe. cube up potatoes, boil, mash, add butter/milk/s&p to taste. use heavy cream and more butter to make them more decadent, use skim milk and the fake butter stuff to save on calories!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2011
Im rating this recipe "as is". It is okay. Its bland. Simple and comforting, but bland. You MUST make modifications for this to be tasty. I could tell by the recipe I needed to add many seasonings, and I did. Take peoples recommendations... bay leaf, S&P, veggies and so on... Also, this is a dumpling. It is supposed to be dough-ey. I had my grands buttermilk biscuit quarters in there for about 45 minutes on high and they came out perfect. Personally, Im not a huge fan of the dumplings, but I cant hold that agaist the recipe bc it is chicken n dumplings afterall. I would prefer this to be served over an oven cooked biscuit, but that would make it a totally different dish.

Country Apple Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2011
Easy and delicious. When making I was skeptical bc there was so much liquid in the pan. My thought was that the bottom would be soggy and the topdry, but this was not the case. I also thought they wouldnt taste very good if left overnight, but they were great the next day. Yes, it is very sugary and you could use much less sugar if youd like. I would highly recommend this as a quick dessert. So easy you could make enough to feed everyone for the holidays.

Chicken Tetrazzini IV

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2011
I accidentally bought fat free broth and light cream so Im sure Im missing a lil flavor due to that. This dish was tasty, but nothing amazing. I seasoned my chicken with S&P and garlic powder since plain old cooked chicken didnt feel right to me. It's def missing somthing, but I dont know what... EDIT: I know whats missing. The sauce itself needs some cheese in it. The bites with the parmesan crust were delicious, the rest were blah. So next time I will add some good quality shaved parmesan to the cream.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2010
I just made these. I did not care for the taste. This was my first time making ginger cookies, and apparently, they are not my favorite. However, I must say the cookie came out perfect. Cooked well, was soft, and they were flavorful... they just arent a flavor I like :)

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2010
Very simple to make, plus it's simple overall. Its just a light, moist, chocolately cake. I didnt put anything on mine but a lil dusting of powdered sugar. The perfect thing to have with a cup of milk. I follwed the instructions perfectly and it came out perfect. No need to make adjustments.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: May 25, 2010
Cooked mine on high for 4 hours. Pork was tender and had a good taste, but nothing special. I think Id rather follow a recipe than to just use bottled sauce. But I gave it 4 stars for its taste and simplicity.

Lemon Blueberry Bread

Reviewed: May 24, 2010
Good flavor. I did not find the lemon to be too overpowering at all. I would have used freshberries bc my frozen berries were covered in juice ice and colored the batter blue. I did not coat them in flour and they did sink. WATCH THE TIME! my loaf cooked to perfection in about 45 minutes.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Great taste! I do have a hard time judging when it's done. It will go from almost done to over done in a matter of minutes, but thats my fault, not the recipes!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: May 22, 2010
Made this as directed and it came out pretty good- so 4 stars. Now, having made it numerous times, Ive tweaked it to personal perfection. I add extra seasonings, whatever feels right. Some garlic, minced onion instead of raw onion, extra pepper and so on. I use rotisserie chicken instead to cut down on a step. I use a microwave steam bag to cook the veggies of my choice(mushrooms/carrots/peas all at once. I always add a tad more liquids bc I tend to add more veggies and chicken than called for. Stir it all together and throw it in the pan. If you use a bottom pie crust make sure to bake that on its own for 5 minutes or so before you add the mixture.

Cajun Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2009
This was REALLY good. It looked a mess as my presentation wasnt much, but it tasted FANTASTIC. Creamy and comforting, but spicy and not-your-average-dinner. I recommend (presentation wise) to remove the chicken when cooking and adding it on top of the pasta/sauce after. I think it would look nicer. So good and easy!
