Russian Black Bread

The black bread looks lighter in this photo than it really is because I dusted it with flour before baking. I did not use a bread machine as the recipe suggests, rather I shaped the risen dough into a large round loaf and cut deep "vents" in the star pattern that you see, baked at 350 degrees for about 35 minutes.
