Honey-Mustard Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2009
We did not like this, pineapple juice was overpowering and when ginger was added sauce became bitter. I didn't use it on the chicken.

Pie Crust IV

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2009
I have not had a lot of luck with homemade pie crusts, but this one never fails for me! Sometimes I make w/ 1/4c. shortening and 1/4c. butter. Also if am making a potpie or something savory I may add a little poultry magic powder or seasoned salt to taste. For sweets I subst. a little cold fruit juice for water. Love it!

Great recipe! Boiled 3 cut up potatoes, 2 cut up carrots and chicken breast together with 3 maggi cubes and some celery seed. used that broth and 1/3 cream to make the sauce to equal liquid amt. called for. Also added a little bit of thyme. Delicious!!!

Lemon-Raspberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2008
Moist & light, very nice muffin. I replaced lemon extract with juice of 1 lemon but when I make again I will use extract (not enough lemon taste with the juice). I also used half butter and half oil and added tad bit of milk. My husband said it was his favorite muffin.

Pastry Cream

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2008
Super easy to make and tastes nice. Mixed in some melted white chocolate after removing from heat and used for a black bottom banana cream pie. I tasted a tiny tiny bit of flour but once the vanilla extract and white choco went in I didn't taste it anymore.

White Chocolate Pastry Cream

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2008
This tastes way too much like cornstarch, in fact it tastes like wet sweet cornstarch. I am not big on poor reviews, but this is a big waste of egg yolks and time. I had to start over with another pastry cream recipe and add white chocolate. Sorry, it could not even be salvaged.

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

Reviewed: May 1, 2008
I have been using this recipe for a few years now and it gets rave reviews from everyone that tries it. It is a fabulous cheesecake. I have also added a touch of amond extract to the batter before for a nice/different touch.

Raspberry Cheesecake Stuffed French Toast

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2008
Very easy, don't let the "Stuffed" scare you. I sliced the bread about 1/2 inch thick and then made the "sandwich". My husband and I loved this. I'm not big on syrup so this worked out wonderful.

Cake Mixes from Scratch and Variations

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2008
I used the white cake option and it was pretty tasty, although I wanted it for a layer cake and it was very fragile and didn't hold up well to slicing through to make the layers. When I try again for a layer cake I would make two recipes and bake in 2 pans. It was a very moist cake.

Chocolate Turtles® Cheesecake I

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2008
In order to give this more stars it needed a few changes for my taste. The caramel made it difficult to slice when chilled and made it way too rich, I like rich but this was too much. I made 1 1/2 times the batter and only made half of it chocolate adding a little less chocolate than called for. If I make again I would drop some dollops of caramel in the first layer of cheesecake batter and do some swirls with the carmel and pecans. Then I would put the chocolate flavored cheesecake batter on top. I see potential but as is it was not a "hit" at Easter because everyone said it was too rich. I bake the crust and chilled after the caramel layer was added.

Almond-Raspberry Meringue Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2008
These are a nice change from the "cookie". THe rasberry layer is strong enough even though it doesn't look like much, may even reduce it next time just a tad.

White Texas Sheet Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2008
This recipe is so easy, so good, and so moist! Even better the next day. I usually skip the icing because we love it without and it's a little too sweet for us with the icing. If you can cut the sweetness a tad the icing is great too.

Manicotti Alla Romana

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2008
Fabulous!!! The recipe looks a little daunting buts it's very simple and worth it. I altered from the recipe and added some bacon slices with the onions and garlic because some other reviewers suggested sausage but I don't like and the bacon added some more flavor to the filling. The white sauce if great although I used less 1/2 and 1/2 and a little white wine. Used a pastry bag.

Chicken Nuggets

I rated this 5 because of the great base. I used 1/2 ritz crakers and half crispy breadsticks, added some garlic and used season salt instead of plain salt. YUM!

Devil's Food Sheet Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2007
We loved this cake! The first time I made it I was out of powdered sugar for icing so it went without & was yummy! Very moist & personally think it tastes better even the next day. I baked with less sugar about 1& 1/2cups just b/c I anticipated the icing being very sweet. My new choco cake recipe, THANKS!!!

Japanese-Style Sesame Green Beans

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2006
YUMMY!! We really liked this. I had to cook a little loger than 10 min. but my beans were fat. I used olive oil instead of canola & next time will try & reduce it to 1/2 Tbs. but these didn't taste oily at all, just a personal preference.
