Shrimp and Sweet Corn Maque Choux

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2012
I followed the recipe exactly and thought it was too spicy. I would cut back on the Cajun spice if I was to make again. It made for a nice light meal.

Deconstructed Chicken Kiev

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2012
We were surprised how much we liked it. I loved the coolness of the tomato and feta salsa with the warm flavorful chicken. The roasted potatoes seemed like an odd side dish for this but it was a yummy dinner! Will make again.

Greek Salad with Spinach & Feta Chicken Sausage

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2012
Loved all the Mediterranean flavor in this salad. I've never thought of using sausage in a salad but this spinach & feta chicken sausage was lean and full of flavor. I forgot to pick up Greek salad dressing so we used Ranch and it was still 5 stars.

Delicious Mussels

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2012
I made these as written and would give this five stars but changed second time to adjust to our taste. I used 2 lbs. mussels (not sure of the count), Chardonnay for the white wine (use one that you like to drink), instead of green onions used shallots (I like the mellow onion flavor), I don't add parsley until the end of cooking as it lost it's fresh flavor as it cooked in liquid and served with a wedge of lemon to drizzle over mussels. YUM! So good!

Fiber One® Chocolate-Peanut Butter Haystacks

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2012
Instead of reduced peanut butter I used regular. I made these and gave them to my friend's kids. I did try one and thought they were good. I asked the kids to review them so here's their reviews. They liked them and would request again but both said they would prefer milk chocolate instead of the semisweet. So, I will be making them again for them with milk chocolate ; )

Patsy's Best Barbeque Beef

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2012
Giving this only three stars because it was just okay. I made the recipe exactly as written. The beef was very tender but the flavor was missing something. Also the liquid never did absorb completely into the meat. I drained enough liquid off the meat to thicken it up.

Chef John's Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2012
Giving this 4 stars only because it was too spicy for me. It was good, and I should add we ate it the next day loaded with cheese, sour cream and guacamole and ate it as nachos. We liked the nachos as all the condiments and chips cooled down the spice. It's very thick and does has a really good flavor. But like I said (for me) way too spicy. So if you like it hot you will love this chili.

Original NESTLE® TOLL HOUSE® Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2011
I really like the Nestle Dark Chocolate Chips, it makes the original toll house chocolate chip cookies taste even better! I made my cookies too big and they were crunchy on the outside and gooey on inside (but still good) so stick to the smaller size cookie so they bake evenly.

Jumbo Dark Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2011
I'm kind of a cookie snob and these cookies were good but not great. I didn't care for the texture. Right from the oven they are soft but after cooling they had a dry texture. I do however love the Nestle Dark Chocolate Chips.

15-Minute Dinner Nachos Supreme

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2011
This was just okay. The beef mixture was a little bland in flavor with all the rice. With the left overs I added some hot sauce to add some more flavor.

Sweet Potato Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2011
Giving this recipe 4 stars because it was good but not great. The tomato soup does give this pie a different taste, not bad, just different.

I made these, took a bite and thought they were missing something so I added mayo and sliced tomato. It was just what the sandwich needed : )

Crescent Pizza Pockets

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2011
I made these twice. First time followed recipe exactly. During baking the pockets split open. Also when taking a bite the whole pepperoni came out with one bite. Second time I changed it up a bit by using (8 oz) Pillsbury® Crescent Recipe Creations® refrigerated seamless dough sheet. With sheet you don't have to worry about the seam splitting open. I also diced the peperoni. Instead of folding diagonally I folded the rectangle in half making a square. These make a fun, fast snack or lunch. I change to 2 servings instead of 4. Maybe 4 kid servings.

Crispy Green Beans with Horseradish-Wasabi Dip

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2011
I've made these twice now. First time as written but then made a few changes for the better. I didn't add the tablespoon milk to the dip, didn't need it. I did use the wasabi powder but only used 1/2 teaspoon. For the green beans I cooked them in water instead of vegetable broth. I cut down on the salt to 1/2 teaspoon and 1/4 pepper. The most important change I made was I used panko bread crumbs and it made these extra crispy.

Kentucky Tomato Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2011
This was my first time making tomato soup from scratch. I followed the recipe exactly. I liked it but it was missing something, not sure what. I am now going to try other tomato soup recipes and see how they rate to this one.

Stuffed Green Pepper

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2011
I had some fresh tomatoes from a friends garden to use up when I came across this recipe. It caught my eye because of the fresh tomatoes. I followed the recipe and made no changes. The only complaint I have is that the sauce is very thin. Next time I will cut the water in half to 1/2 cup. I love the idea of using fresh tomatoes and green peppers from the garden. I did enjoy the light fresh taste. When I'm given vine ripe tomatoes, I would make this again.
