Fajita Marinade I

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2008
I had tried a chicken fajita recipe from this site and found that the taste of the worcheshire sauce to be overpowering, so this was exactly what I was looking for. This one was much more authentic. I added cilantro, cumin, and coriander per previous reviews, and it came out perfectly! It was also my first time grilling as my husband usually does it. I am so pleased with the results! Even the our picky kids loved it. This will be in the regular rotation from now on.

Bacon and Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2008
Really want to give this one 4 1/2 stars. Made this last night and it turned out really good and it was easy! I didn't really change anything like I normally do, except that I don't like green olives so I skipped them. I halved the recipe, and it made more than enough for dinner. The only thing I will change next time is to use a little less vinegar, maybe a half tbsp less when doing a smaller batch, as it was just a little strong (it did mellow out after sitting overnight). Great recipe!

Souvlaki

Reviewed: May 18, 2008
This was one of the best recipes I have found here. What I was hoping for and more! I had to substitute lime juice for the lemon cuz I was out, but I don't know if it made a difference (will try with lemon next time). Like others have said, this will become a regular dish at our home! Thanks for the great recipe!

Ranch Burgers

Reviewed: May 15, 2008
Just what I was looking for! I need to go shopping so I was out of a few things. I didn't have an egg so I also skipped the crackers, and I didn't have and onion, so I used minced. Still loved it and will try the way it was originally posted soon!

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2007
Tried this variation the other night. It was pretty good, but a little too much balsamic for us. I had to "fix" the leftovers by adding more broth and a little milk. I prefer the "Chicken with Wild Mushroom and Balsamic Cream Sauce" on foodnetwork.com

Polish Meat and Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2007
Was looking for an easy "comfort food" recipe. This one hit the spot. It took a little longer to cook than I expected, but I think I just used a pan that was too small. Will be making this again, and again, and again...

Scrumptious Salisbury Steak in Mushroom Gravy

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2007
This was my first time trying salisbury steak so I was not sure what to expect. I only deviated a little from the original recipe. I sauteed my onions as I have found that helps the meat stick together better, and I like the flavor better as well. I also added about a tsp. of Kitchen Bouquet to help thicken the gravy and 2 dashes of Worcheshire. My husband loved it and so did I. Served with baked potato. Will be adding this to my recipe book!

Eileen's Meatloaf

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2006
Made this last night and it was yummy! Used other's suggestions and put in 1/2 c. sour cream, and 1/2 c. ranch dressing. Also, I only used 3/4 c. of bread crumbs, and 1/2 pkg. of the soup mix, added a splash of A-1 and Tabasco. Served with mashed potaoes and fresh corn off the cob. Will definitely make this one again!

Marie's Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2006
This turned out perfectly! Meat was juicy and tender, and veggies were yummy! The only thing I did differently is add more water (cuz' we like lots of veggies and gravy) but I should have added another package of soup mix. I also cooked it on high for 4 1/2 hours. Makes great leftovers and the kids CHOWED! Thanks!

Mom's Great Green Beans

This was just ok. The kids didnt care much for it, and my fiancee didn't eat as much as he does when I make simple green beans with butter.

Pork Chop and Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2006
Made this one tonight and it was a hit. The kids loved it, and my fiancee was too busy eating to join in the conversations. I added minced fresh garlic to the onions, and used the roasted garlic cream of mushroom soup. I was a little worried that I wouldn't have enough sauce, so I added a little more milk, a splash of chicken broth, and a couple tablespoons of sour cream. I added some basil to the sauce, due to other reviwers saying it was too bland, but would omit the basil next time as it did not seem to make it better. I also left out the cheese, as I thought it would make it too greasy. The kids are picky, so its always good to have them tell me dinner was awesome.

Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2006
I have tried breading things before, and it always seemed like something was missing. I was skeptical at first, but this really turned out fantastic! I added some dried basil and a little garlic powder to the breading, and 5 minutes before it was done I put some mozzarella on top. Smelled so yummy while cooking, and my fiancee couldnt get enough! We will definitely be making this one again...SOON!!!

Italian Breaded Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2006
I tried this recipe last night and it was the first time I breaded anything. It was really easy and tasty too. My honey couldn't stop talking about it. I personally felt like something was missing, but it was still good. The only thing I did differently was I added 2 tbsp of fresh basil, and a tsp. each of oregano and rosemary. I also used grapeseed oil instead of olive because its a lighter oil. Thanks for the recipe!
